Humor World Cup 2010

I think nobody disagrees that England was robbed a goal. Even the lineman is rumored to have admitted he was wrong when he saw the replay. But this was not the key to Englands defeat as even most loyal England fans admit -- what I really appreciate.

I like to see the English vs Germany football games become more of a frindly rivalry than a "war against the evil" -- which it has been too often in the past.

Even the Germans said that it was a goal, but the German goal keeper also said in a interview, that he played the ball forward as fast as possible so the referee does not change his mind... Maybe not a reason for a fair play prize.

True. But on the other hand I think every goalie would do that in this situation. Would you stop the game and call out it was a goal?

If footballers were so into their "fair play", they wouldn't keep dropping to the floor clutching their faces every time someone brushes past them.

You can't blame the German keeper for doing what he did. There's a lot at stake!

Even with the goal, though, Germany would have won the game reasonably comfortably. They were much more of a team than England were.

Been an interesting day though. England denied a goal which should have been, and now Argentina awarded a goal which should not have been...

Yes, but that Tevez shot shows that this one doesn't really matter.

The next match for Germany will (again) be the toughest. Just look what England managed to do with such shots today and you know what Germany needs to practice this week.

The referees and decisions are awful this cup. They are discussed every major cup but this is by far the worst.

It really is time for video replays. But this will not happen until Blatter is dead.

Agreed. That was a heck of a goal!

Germany looked a little vulnerable in defence at times today, so they'll really have to be careful against Argentina!

Yeah, but inside our 16 meters, it looked better. Our left side is a weakness, because Podolski doesn't work too much in the defense.

Luckily we have Friedrich and Lahm.

The Netherlands put together another win and advanced to the quarter finals (to play the winner of Brazil-Chile.)

I'm not sure The Netherlands will make it all the way to the final though.

I think they'll lose against Brazil.
I didn't have a look at the statistics, but I think quarter finals is quite a normal level for the Netherlands.

well, we just took out Chile 3 to nothing :headbang:
which was very fun to watch.... even for ppl like me who oly care about football once every 4 years :sweet:

here's hoping! as long as we keep playing, we folks back home will keep getting the days off work to watch the matches... it's a win-win situation

...and taking it home a sixth time would be pretty sweet, even though most of us ain't putting our hopes up to high this year... :hmm:
