How do you add windows to an add-on you are making in Anim8or? I am making a car/space craft and I want to add windows in the fromt and side.

Options:

1. Don't do anything. Leave holes.
2. Make a transparent material and create a thin meshgroup with it.

How do I make a transperant material? And make a thin mesh group.

Do you know how to edit the material properties?

Don't you double click on it? Or just click the materials button?

How do you do it?

I'm not certain for anim8or, but It should work about the same everywhere.

In the material editor, choose a new material, and search for the opacity property. Set it to a fitting value, there you go.

There isn't an opacity value in Anim8or. There is ambiant, diffuse, specular, emissive, rough, and brilliance. Ther is also something that says, trans.

I'm not an Anim8or expert, but trans sounds like transparency, or transmissivity or something like that. Fiddle with it.

You don't look hard enough. I can clearly see it. Do you see it, too? :P

(Actually: "Trans" is exactly what stands there.)

Opacity? I also have another problem. The textures never show up in Anim8or even when I load them.

You should not do visual work, if you are blind...

Why do you have to be so rude?! I obivously don't see it in the materials part.

Yes. And that is really an achievement.

Opacity is the inverse of TRANSparency. Play with the TRANSparency.

Urwumpe made it sound like there was an actual opacity tool.

I did not make something sound different. When I say material properties, I mean it. :@

Surely if you meant it, you could have told me it was, "trans." Couldn't you? I am threw with arguing.

Alright, I consider everyone is done with squabbling now..
It's clear that MJR wans't sure about the fact that people meant the "trans" property. Back to the original 'window' discussion (if there is anything more to add).
