Rant Whingeing Pom...

Clarkson's Victorian train nearly beat May's classic car and destroyed Hammond's motorbike.

You are aware, of course, that they stage all their "races" to make sure they're close and more interesting...

In the airports we de-snow the runways with jet engines mounted on a truck.
Why can't you put a forward-facing jet engine on your summer-only trains to clean the tracks, and keep the system running?

In any case, it's just snow. How can it disrupt what is a mildly northern island country?

UK dosen't normally have this amount of snow, and the temperature dosen't drop so far, or for so long. Our Winters are normally wet and windy and chilly, not -15C! Usually get some snow in Jan/Feb, this is unusual, and we aren't prepared.

Of course. It is god-damn TV. If I wanted to see a wallpaper bleach out by UV light in a dark room in real time, I would be vegetable...

Sort of. From what I understand they set up races that they think would be close and create ways to make races closer. Yes, the show is really staged (the electric car falling down a hill, for instance), but honestly that is why its better than 5th gear (because Top Gear manages to entertain and misinform).

Back on the subject of weather, I've noticed the Top Gear Test Track has been wet damn near every week this series.

Don't know much about trains. However, I get a mental picture of this adding new meaning to the term "full speed astern" :)

Wow, Terra satellite has taken a photo of an Arctic Ocean island! ;)

Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light...

Sorry, it was the first thing that popped into my head. You realise I'll have that tune running through my head all night now, don't you? :P

Looks like you have discovered my secret! There goes my "other" life....

Must admit it reminds me of "The Excorsist" film poster

Anyway, here's some more snow for all in the Southern Hemisphere:

Nice pictures:) My backyard looks more or less the same.

Has the Thames frozen in London? During the Little Ice age winter like this would be considered warm.
Here average temperature is hanging around -10C since the beginning of January and it`s forecasted to drop to -20 -25C at weekend.

As always folks, you have the local temperature, good for you!

Still a bit chilly at this end!!!
