C++ developer in the mix
On my mothers side I get Portuguese and on my fathers side I get German. My grandpa was the same, but with Russian. What are you guys?

On my mothers side: My grandmother came from the east at the end of WWII (she nearly got onto the Wilhelm Gustloff, if she would have made it I would propably not be here today). My other grandmother came from east Germany, and one of my grandfathers from west Germany. Would be great to find out about more generations.

My mother's side is German-Jew, and Native American. My ancesters founded Alvin, Texas, a suburb in Houston, where my mom's family was born (and so was ZZ Top!). My dad's side is Italian and Irish.

Mother: All native lower Saxons, with the rest of the family being spread between Braunschweig and Magdeburg.
Father: His parents had been from somewhere east of Pomerania, but I only know roughly where my grandmother was from. The farm where my grandfather used to work is unknown to me. I heard more about his life before the war on his funeral, than from himself. Both married after the war and formed a large patchwork family, which is mostly concentrated around Salzgitter now.

My Father's side is Italian and it catholic. we dont practice it but we do have interest of it. my Mother's side is Russian and they are jewish

I am well mixed up, one way or another. Father was Scottish / Irish. Mother is half Afghan, quarter English, quarter Irish, but born in India. I am nationalized Ecuadorian, but was born in England.

For various personal reasons I don't quite know exactly what my ethnic background is.
But I look like a "white guy", which means I get blamed for a bunch of stuff I supposedly did before I was born and don't get any special goodies from the government.
Which makes me wish all people were clones. Of me, of course. Except the women, who should be clones of Summer Glau.

On my dad's side I'm German, Hanoverian/Lower Saxon on my grandpa's side, Hessian on my grandma's.
On my mom's side I'm assorted Canadian: A large bit of English, some Scottish, some Irish, some French, and some Rhode Island Loyalists that got kicked off their land during the Revolution.
For as red-blooded of an American as I am, it's rather ironic how much of my anscestry was on the other side of the Revolutionary War: George III of England was also the Prince-elector of Hanover, and I have anscestry from Hanover. The British hired Hessian mercenaries during the Revolution, and I have Hessian anscestry. I have plenty of British anscestry, and the only anscestors I know of that were actually in the thirteen colonies at the time of the Revolution were the Rhode Island Loyalists (actually, the guy's father seems to have stayed in RI, but my line of anscestry went to Canada with the son).
