WarpDriveMFD Mk2 R2 - Made by Artlav, 2007-2010.
For Orbiter 2010.

This MFD implements the Gravimetric Field Displacement Engine (aka "the Warp Drive") for any vessel.

How to use:
Open that MFD.
Then,
Shift+W toggles Warp Drive on and off.
Shift+= and Shift+- regulates velocity.
Speed limit - warp 5 or 125 times the speed of light.

All Controls:
Shift+D or DRP returns you to truespace.
Shift+B or REV changes the direction of the warp speed.
Shift+G or GRV disables/enables the gravity. No idea why i put that one in it.
Shift+W or WRP enables/disables the drive.

08.08.2010: Recompiled for Orbiter 2010.

16.03.2007: Major remake, model changed, recompiled for 2006P1.

09.05.2006: Recompiled for Orbiter 2006 and some new features.

30.05.2006: Hard mode added

This Warp MFD and Attitude MFD to point you in the right direction - probably the easiest way for a newbie to get around the solar system IMHO

OH, thats just in the right time for me! I'm finishing a sci-fi project which will require WarpDrive. I was wondering if it works in Orbiter2010, too. Now it's sure.

Thanks!!! Your warp drive will be recommended in credits of my addon once released!:thankyou:

Add-ons like these are what makes orbiter so fun! Heheh now my 5 year old can fly around the solar system with ease and not have to learn imfd and all the theory behind it. For now.

it doesn't work

I cannot get it do do anything. I put the file in the modules/plugin folder and can bring it up on an MFD screen, but when I hit shift+w to turn it on and then shift+= or shift+-, nothing happens at all.

Are you sure warp drive is activated (press WRP if not)?

Warp Drive Issues

I just got the Warp Drive MFD, after I downloaded it I copied and pasted the folders into my Orbiter2010 directory.

Once I played a scenario I looked into my sel screen to look for the warp drive and nothing. I also tried pressing shift W to activate it and nothing happened? any help.

I attempted the drive on my XR2 and my DG

You have to find it in the "Modules" section of the Orbiter launchpad and then select its checkbox. Also, depending on how many MFDs you have active, you might have to press "SEL" on the MFD screen more than once to find it.

Same problem!!
Don't hit shift+=, hold it.
You won't see any immediate changes on velocity meter or orbit MFD, but then the Earth would start moving away.

If you're sure holding it does not help, hit Shift+1. If that does nothing, then something is broken or not set up right.

My warpdrive used to do that, until I shot an arrow through its knee...

On the serious note, he warpdrive should take you in exactly the direction you're pointing your ship at. I can't really tell what you could be doing wrong. Just engage warp, increase warp factor and point where you want to go.

Warp MFD is great for getting around the solar system but now with Orbiter Galaxy, traveling to another star at warp 5 takes quite a long time. Perhaps the upper limit of the warp MFD could be increased to, say, warp 10 which would make it much easier to travel the galaxy.

I wonder if it's possible to break the warp 5 barrier. :stirpot:

Press Shift + 9. The Shift depends on which side the MFD is on.
