The best explanation of core and core-rope memory I've ever seen, from the group that some time ago restored an Apollo Flight Computer and used it to land on the Moon in Orbiter with, if I remember correctly, NASSP:

 
I did not know that, next to Mike Massimino, Ronald Evans (Apollo 17) obviously was one of the funniest Astronauts...


I know public relations is one significant part of being an astronaut. But a few guys are just extraordinary 😎
