We've been working on it in L2 for a week - still waiting for an official FAWG/Manifest CR for an article - but it's apparently STS-133's slip has started to get mentions on another sites, so we'll note where we're at prior to an article with documentation...

...this mission is likely slipping to February.

AMS-02's new magnet (of course, it would have to be a European project)!

According to the official AMS-02 Twitter page, the cryomagnet (amongst many other things) has been removed and the new permanent magnet has arrived at CERN's integration room in Geneva! :thumbup:

why are they going to leave the OBSS at the station?

So that it can be used as an extension boom for the SSRMS, in case EVA crewmembers ever need to reach places that are unreachable by the SSRMS (such as the P6 Truss solar arrays, as was demonstrated during STS-120). The OBSS’s FRGF (Flight Releasable Grapple Fixture) will be replace with a SSRMS compatible PDGF (Power & Data Grapple Fixture) during one of STS-134’s EVAs.

According to the official AMS-02 Facebook page, the new (which is really the old) permanent magnet has been installed into AMS-02! :thumbup:
