A video from another time, a few days before the cold, when the weather was warm enough to wear short-sleeves.
 
This is a scoop: the first minute of the (classified) air-to-ground during the launch of STS-51J, starting at 30:30
We can now hear the birth of Atlantis! :hailprobe:

Was probably posted before, but this is good stuff about the space race topic, with some nice video clips (I never saw before the Voskhod airlock extension test), some nice Gemini footage too (and of course Apollo). Only downside, there is little mention of the unmanned programs, which were important (Luna, Surveyor, Ranger...) :hailprobe:


You really see how USA went from the Vanguard amateur-ish stuff to real rockets and the Saturn V lunar train (thanks W. Von Braun ;) ).
