Space Shuttle Ultra development thread

Better to apply that to the texture you have.

Of course I can use them. I am not sure I can implement them instantly, but i can at least make the animations useful then. :)

EDIT: Meshes and textures are on the repository.

How close are we to a good payload handling standard in SSU?

Well, the controls are available in the meshes now... But nothing more from my side.

Maybe now that the panel controls are in, this should become a priority?

And would there be any way to make the pad stadium lights operational?

I don't know if this could already be priority, but we really need a standard defined. We can't change the attachment point order often once the first add-ons are released.

Well, thruster type lights should be possible, ideally as part of the FSS module.

Urwumpe,

Code:
Needle 1
Rotation point=1.09,2.02,14.69
Needle 2
Rotation point=1.02,2.02,14.69
Needle 3
Rotation point=1.11,2.1,14.71
Topdial
Rotation point=1.03,2.09,14.71
bottomdial
Rotation point=1.04,1.92,14.66

Pad stadium lights and MLP access stand have now been added. Now going to start work on the H2 tower that connectes the pad LH2 and GH2 transfer lines with the ones on the MLP.

Donamy: Attached to this post is final texture map for the hardstand. Could you add some nice textures it? I haven't actually mapped it to the mesh yet, just created the actual texture map.

It has descriptions where each element texture goes in the boxes.

Major changes this time was the application of textures that Donamy made and the addition of the side SRB flame deflectors. I also added the 4 stadium lights.

Hopefully I should have something useable in a few days.

I've updated the Attitude Control code to use the M50 inertial reference frame instead of Orbiter's ref. frame. Hopefully I haven't broken anything :)

I have checked in a first commit version of the hardstand. And this is with textures and an updated Canaveral.cfg file with concrete hardstands at both 39A and 39B. Coordinates is based on default KSC tiles.

Here's two scenarios, one is L-60 minutes of STS-114(39B) and the other is shortly after harddown and departure of the Crawler Transporter following the 1st rollout of STS-117 in February 2007(39A).

Question ? Are the default coordinates correct for the pads? If not, why in the hell would you bother to scale the shuttle down correctly and use the wrong coordinates for launch?:censored:

Ehh, I'm not seeing how POS in degrees relates to the size of the shuttle in meters.

I lined up the concrete hardstands with their correct locations on the default KSC surface tiles as per Urwumpe's suggestion here:

I was just wondering: Are we going to use the default KSC tiles or Kukanotas' higher res KSC tiles? I just wonder as it affects the placement of the pad elements.

Urwumpe said:
I think we go by the default tiles and allow using patched scenarios for the hi-res tiles.

Also I think we should define the context "STSULTRA" for all bases we use.

Understand now?

donamy: about the lights, look at this photos, thats how the russian cockpit components look like in action. I don't find any shots of the shuttle to compared the docking panels to, but I doubt they made special shuttle versions of the components.

http://www.africaninspace.com/home/gallery/tech/40.shtml

Also, some elements are just push buttons, they don't need to be painted.
