Any preference on the camera in VC or not.

Working on sts 125. But having issues with the attachments part of FSS to SCM

Not sure how to attach the scm to HST?

I would make it attach to the HST, apart from the FSS. It's only for looks right now anyway.

Yes but how to attach this to HSt_ex?

So I need some help. Trying to get the Payload bay cameras to tilt/pan.

Looking at ssu code.
Code:
            else if  (CAMERARIGHT == 1) {
                camYaw[PBCAMERA] = min(MAX_PLB_CAM_PAN, camYaw[PBCAMERA] + camRate*simdt);
                //sprintf(oapiDebugString(), "phi %d tilt %f ", PBCAMERA, camYaw[0]);
                cameraMoved = true;
                CAMERARIGHT = 0;
            }

            if (CAMERAPANUP == 1)  {

                camPitch[PBCAMERA] = max(-MAX_PLB_CAM_TILT, camPitch[PBCAMERA] - camRate*simdt);
                cameraMoved = true;
            }

But I can't to find what these values are defined as

MAX_PLB_CAM_PAN

MAX_PLB_CAM_TILT

The pan would be the base attachment point, and the tilt would be where the camera attaches to the base.

Thanks. So I got them coded. But still not sure about the values.
6c41chM.jpg

I might make a pop up window to control the cameras. Haven't got the RMS elbow one to work as yet

these are my guess:
Code:
double MAX_PLB_CAM_PAN, MAX_PLB_CAM_TILT;
Code:
	MAX_PLB_CAM_PAN = 180;
	MAX_PLB_CAM_TILT = 180;

But anyway, some payloads in STS_Payloads are a bit too simplified, for example GAS canisters are depicted without interface\bridgerails which are used in real life to attach to the sides of payload bay. They are made in STS ISS missions, so they are already modelled.
And Spacelab (module) also is somewhat lacking... front is OK, but sides of cylinder module are a bit off.

Thanks. So my main goal is to get a working dll,....
I think I have that. but working on getting the camera to tilt/pan,....
Going to add to the light control panel the camera commands.

So on the payloads. I can try to update them but not sure what I am looking for. Can you be more specific on gas canisters,.....

yes 41G was done. No pylon

The GAS canisters, usually have an opening lid to expose experiments to space. Or even launch little satellites.

Which add on? Once I get the camera coded and tested then Maybe a release?

Then can start a new thread for scn's,.....

So I got the camera to work. BUT really you need to use them in D3D9 and no clipping
Regular graphics. Notice the clipping on the aft wall:
kc8pIgk.jpg

d3d9 no clipping
EoYFc4x.jpg

notice no clipping and brighter
external view. notice Camera B angled:

Camera A

Not sure how useful the view would be?

So give this version a try.

you will need to edit the cfg to reflect the new dll. Best in d3d9 and no clipping.
Got the rms elbow camera to move also.
Let me know.

A mention of the Space hab/lab. Which STS? These are sts107.

Well, the SpaceHAB short module flew first, then both the short and longer module was used for logistics to Mir and ISS, I think 107 was the only research long module that flew. Spacelab was an ESA thing whereas SpaceHAB was meant to be a commercial venture in partnership with NASA.

To clarify, Spacelab flew first, the shorter SpaceHAB flew ahead of the other SpaceHAB modules.

Yes, the last couple of pics was Spacelab. As it can be seen, mesh is quite rudimentary, low poly... and mapping is not the best (but its creation can be traced back to 2004! when PC's were slower). But it flew in 16 flights (in 1983-1998).

Besides this, only DSP satellite (STS-44) comes to mind immediately...

In earlier Orbiter graphics DSP would not look spectacular (a lot of foils and environmental reflections), but now, with impressive D3D9 it should look amazing.

WSF and SFU would also be fun to play around with, among other payloads.

Would be cool if you could put two monitors in the aft flight deck, to watch the camera views, while operating the arm.

Even SSU doesn't have that. :lol:

Do you mean 2 MFD's? I suppose you can run a camera mfd? in the mfd.

Updated 2nd version:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=18Xi-4wEifRtm60vz9Rivv7qz7PFhSwT5
this is the one that has movable cameras.
So if you want to use this change the cfg to this:
Code:
; === Configuration file for vessel class Shuttle ===
ClassName = SPACESHUTTLE2016F
Module = SPACESHUTTLE2016F
ImageBmp = Images\Vessels\Default\Atlantis.bmp
RenderCockpit = TRUE

; === Attachment specs ===
BEGIN_ATTACHMENT
END_ATTACHMENT
else the cfg for Shuttle2016B
Code:
; === Configuration file for vessel class Shuttle ===
ClassName = SPACESHUTTLE2016D
Module = SPACESHUTTLE2016D
ImageBmp = Images\Vessels\Default\Atlantis.bmp
RenderCockpit = TRUE

; === Attachment specs ===
BEGIN_ATTACHMENT
END_ATTACHMENT

Any thoughts on a description and image for the download?
