News Russia deploys Avangard hypersonic missile system

Doesn't change the situation that I constantly have to pray:

Dear Lord, let brains rain from the sky! And remove all umbrellas first! Amen.
Would be very useful for the losers in the parliaments. But they don't have to deal with the reality anyway 🤷‍♂️

Did you never learn, that while you are pointing your finger at others, four fingers point back at you?

I think it's one of those empty phrases to escape criticism. Happened already in school, with bullheaded teachers that can't be fired or even shifted anyway.

"Our politics are right. We just didn't communicate it well."

"Do it better!"

There are five fingers pointing toward the ballot paper, when I put two crosses on it 😉 That's the good news in a democracy.

Well, the communist battle dwarf Gysi has sadly retired.
His amusement value was in fact high. Especially in combination with Norbert Lammert or Volker Kauder during his speeches. But as with some other politicians: wrong party. And his past in the GDR is quite foggy I think... But his show on YouTube is nice though, depending on the guest of course.

What I miss these days are politicians that are not afraid to handle certain media representatives just like they deserve it: not answering. Helmut Kohl was an excellent example, whenever Spiegel.TV wanted to report their nonsense.

Exactly, he is great in talking, but less so in leading this party or a kindergarten.

Well, Kohl was actually pretty thin-skinned regarding the media, thus he usually said his phrases and avoided answering questions. Without the reunifaction, he would't have been chancellor for that long. Schröder was better in comparison and the reason that Kohls tenure ended, but he now plays for the wrong team. Though he still is great in terms of presence during interviews or using social media, especially in comparion to Söders "food channel". Schröder is also the inventor of the "leader standing in rainboots staring the flood down" look, which will likely be copied by Söder again in the next days. Schröder was a real old conman, that made him entertaining.

I would prefer a politician with a vision. I doubt I will ever see one.

I remember when they recorded an interview and the cameras were rolling before, when he wasn't satisfied with the couch he had to sit on and ordered another chair: "Gib dem Hans-Dietrich auch einen!" 😂 It's on YoutTube ("Helmut Kohl: Der entsetzliche Stuhl"). He was actually very German, the man from provincial Oggersheim.

I'm not sure. You know, usually the condemned live longer. Especially in politics. I think he was just accidentally chancellor when the USSR collapsed. Who would have expected that Merkel stays for 16 years also? And she could have done it 20 years likely. But I think it's more due to a lack of appropriate candidates. The Union might be the last major party. Our country is actually quite "black", especially in Bavaria, Schleswig-Holstein and NRW.

Yeah, he can represent a statesman very will. He is a good "showmaster". But his party is a no-go (for me). His career is a good example that the social background isn't really that much crucial, unlike many people believe (also Stoiber originated from a "simple" family, but Schröder even more so).

I would prefer a politician with a vision. I doubt I will ever see one.
Well, according to Helmut Schmidt you should see a doctor... 😂😜

Well, he said a lot of weird things. Thats what made him the Nostradamus of German politics. You hate foreigners - there is a Schmidt quote for you. You like foreigners - there is also a Schmidt quote for you. I am pretty sure, he also said something that could be interpreted as pro Linux.

I see having a vision as the only working way to not get lost in the everyday problems. Thats how the Merkel years felt good, but actually left us in a worse situation than before. Thats also how you give too much control over the politics to the media. Same can be said about Schmidt, the chancellor. While I respect him for having had some good and solid principles there, he failed to bring West Germany out of crisis mode and politics declined into just fixing the next title page problem.

Yeah. In the end he was just a normal human being as we all are. But his utterances were more related to the import of the Islam, rather than to foreigners.

Schmidt was actually "a better chancellor" during his last years in life I think. Back then, when he was in office, he wasn't really popular.

You mean, when he had no responsibility and no office? No way that he could act? Yeah, there we got our 83 million football trainers problem again. I wish people would not overestimate the opinions of somebody who want have the responsibility or accountability for actions.
