The news announced that a meteorite 250 km/h crashed and pass through the roof of a house in Uruguay!
The impact destroyed a furniture and a TV. The meteorite weighed 712g! With a density of 3.4 grams per cubic centimeter.

Experts of MS Laboratories, believe that the impacted object was part of a much larger object, probably the ball that the player Higuain kicked in the match Argentina vs Chile in Copa America Chile 2015.

What's the one that looks like a winged vehicle from?

According to the info next to it, it is from Star Trek however it didn't specify neither series nor episode.

This one even looks nice without all the fancy modding:

I only saw to DMC 12s: one was at a museum in Germany, Sinsheim I believe, and one was...on a foggy beltway around Milan while heading south.

I know that feeling, somebody here is driving an old Oldsmobile 98 or similar. Feels really surreal among all those new tiny cars, even a big SUV looks small next to it.

In the car park where I often park for work stands an rather old car (~late 90s) that could look really beautiful, if the owner would not let it rot away there. It has never moved since I park there. But I fail to identify even the manufacturer of it, it is looking really worn. It looks somewhat French to me, like a modern brother of the Citroen SM. I should really take a picture of it.

Yes! Firing up the SR-30 jet engine for my lab next week! Fire and sweet, sweet jet noise!

It's going to piss off the humanities department faculty across the street, but whatever. They can go read in the library.

I never thought those cars were very good-looking, even for the 80s they looked like they were trying too hard. Didn't help that they were reportedly underpowered.

Every once in a while I still see one around at a show or a convention. There used to be a used car dealer not far from where I live who somehow got his hands of two of them and he used to display out front by the highway, one with the gullwing doors open.

They do certainly turn heads.

Sounds like music to my ears. When are you going to add a reheater to it?

No reheater just yet, but one of the students will probably want to make that their design project. It's just a little demonstrator assembled by Turbine Technologies that I am using for my new lab course. Yves Rossy flies with these particular engines IIRC. But it winds up to about 90,000 rpm and you can hear it all through the building. And they will. Oh yes, they will hear it. Mwah ha ha!

We have a turbine lab with an LM2500 in it, unfortunately only static display. I miss the smell of JP-8 burning in the morning. It smells like...awesome!

Nice... but I prefer the Allison 250 my former A&P program used.

Way to make a fellow Orbiteer feel inadequate. :(

If I had my way I'd defenestrate my lab building in a heartbeat, in the name of education of course. I firmly believe that burning off one's eyebrows should be a rite of passage for any self-respecting engineer.

The 90's called...they want their party back..

APAS-esque docking system (still missing the hydraulic actuators, not looking forward to modeling them).
Modeling gets strenuous after a while, this has taken over 6+ months and 20 different designs before it got to the point of actually looking decent.

Quite easy if you don't remember to energize the ignition circuit before hitting the starter!

Too easy. It's supposed to work like this:

"Hmmm.,,,that's funny..."

*WOOOSH*!!!

"Hey...where did my eyebrows go? And why is my shadow burned into the wall like that?"
