Great. Check Engine light is on and engine is shaking furiously in its brackets. I don't think it wants to be checked...

The check engine light just malfunctioned and now the engine got told "Hey, the check engine light is on, something might be wrong with you!" Which means your engine is scared now and is being hypochondriac about anything and everything.

Just read wikipedia pages of different types of cancer or illnesses and you know how it feels right now.

Try closing all windows and restart.

Shaking furiously... injector failure?

Busted mount, more likely. That or it's possessed by Satan.

Busted mount does not result in MIL light... there is no ODB-2 parameter for structural failures.

Problems with the gearbox could be one option there, but more likely is either injection or exhaust system.

What kind of car? What kind of engine? What's the odometer reading?

Come on, man. We ca't help you diagnose the issue without details! :facts:

Wow, you're only 8 posts away to 25k!

Thats a boring number, 24,816 was more fun. My next one to celebrate is 124,816 ... some many years in the future.

Not likely. It started after the battery died and I had to boost it. It started fine when boosting, but now this happens every ignition. My uneducated guess is the alternator.

It's already in the shop for diagnosis. I'm no mechanic. :P

FWIW, it's a 2007 Pontiac G5. I don't exactly recall the odometer reading.

Not sure there, since the alternator has its own warning light. But you could maybe have damaged a critical sensor.

I'm not a trained one, either, but I know enough for basic diagnostics.

A little digging turned up this: SERVICE ENGINE SOON (SES) LIGHT AND SEVERE ENGINE MISFIRE ON CYLINDERS 1 AND 4 OR CYLINDERS 2 AND 3. *TT UPDATED 08-15-07.

Looks like it may be a known problem that the dealer can fix.

I recieved a news mail saying "Pro Tip: Don't put your iPhone 6 in the microwaves".
Wait, so did someone actually tried cooking his iPhone 6? Are people actually stupid, or are they trying really hard to be the dumbest people?

As far as I understood it 4chan invented that "prank" or however you want to call it a couple of years ago and brought it up again now for the release of the new iPhone. Just the 4chan way of getting a laugh out of stupid people.

Some people bought them just to smash on camera, so... Why not? :)

Besides, it might be a survivability test.
I.e. if you put a russian military cell phone into a microwave, it will survive just fine for quite a while.
