Huh? How do you treat one without the other?

Well, we spent months talking about Nazi youth organizations, discrimnation against Jews etc. in the period of '33 to '39.
"Then a war happened, Germany lost and, oh, there was a holocaust." In roughly that length.

But on the other hand you learn about it in every subject. You learn about the Third Reich in history, you learn about Nazi-friendly music in music, you learn about (anti) Nazi-literature in German classes, you learn about Nazi art in art classes (where I learned Hitler was a worse painter than I am:)), you learn about anti-Nazi propaganda in the US/UK in English classes (And of course there were no Americans/Britons who were not Nazis simply because they weren't born in Germany, no. Only one nation was the antisemitic, nationalistic, militaristic maniacs.) etc.

And in all that hundreds of hours about Nazi topics you never talked about why it was wrong and why people still followed it or that a lot of people thought exactly like that. You just talked about it believing there was a consensus how bad this time was and how none of us would follow something like that, while I'm quite sure this consensus was only imagined and a lot would do the same like people did in '33. And antisemitism in other nations wasn't even mentioned. Sure, Germany did the most terrible thing but that was too much black/white for me, I wouldn't fully accept a nation which kills millions of Jews just like I would say a nation which bans Jewish lawyers/doctors was wrong although they weren't lead by Hitler.
It's like reading only the war passages of "Im Westen nichts Neues", in the end you'll get students who believe this was a totally awesome, über-cool war trip where you were allowed to ram a bayonet in someone's rip cage and then it was over again and everyone was happy.

Sorry for the rant, but IMO this kind of education has at least a few arrows in the knee.

And it even has engines! My first one was just the call to addmesh, and nothing else. Congrats Loru! You are following the way of the :probe:!

It's PB with altered mesh, mass and exhaust flames added. I've seen much of Woo482's code during our cooperation so I got quite familiar with some functions.

This attempts are just for taking out Woo's head painfully long and exhausting tunning process of for example particle stream effects. That involves sometimes few dozen dll files to be compiled, downloaded by me, tried in orbiter and then next few dozens requests of changing single parameter.

In our projects I'll be able to contribute more than just mesh&texture and Woo can then focus on more ambitious parts of projects (internal logic, autopilots, complex engines etc.

Also I can for example code simple space station module I need for my upcomming space station construction.

You know you've made too many comments on YouTube when you find yourself typing nonsense words on other sites...

You forgot to add how Orbiter VS property sheets ease creating new projects, without the pain of setting every path and option in the project, and how everyone should use them. :P

You're right - without your online help I wouldn't be able to set up VS properly.

Thank you very much. :D If you're in Warsaw anytime soon feel free to bump in for a crate of beer.

On a completely random and unrelated note, a new Freeman's mind episode was just released after 252 days of delay, and it was meh.

And to think, our history classes feature entire chapters on the Civil War and Vietnam.

Which is not taught with any depth at all in Canadian history classes. Instead, the War of 1812 is focused on in such a hilariously pro-Canadian light and for such a long period of the year that it made anyone who cared about history wonder what the actual story was. The second part of history was "Vimy Ridge -or- How Canada Saved the World in the Greatest Battle Ever Fought."

I think most countries suffer this symptom in one form or another. Publicly-funded education only makes it more poignant.

, well in fairness we did win!

I always find pretty much any account of the war of 1812 rather bizarre, because its never given the appropriate context within the larger backdrop of the Napoleonic wars.

Vimy Ridge is covered pretty mindlessly too, not that important of a battle, but it makes us feel important, so hey! I didn't find my Canadian history classes quite that biased though, so maybe it depends on the teacher

Uhhh...don't know where you guys are getting this, but I'm not complaining about any plagiarism. My crap isn't worth copying:lol:

The joke I was trying to make was about the Captcha system on YouTube, where they start making you type those funky combinations to ensure you're not a spambot. The system kicks in after you enter a certain number of comments in quick succession. I've occasionally had to enter multiple codes in one day.

Guess the joke was a little obtuse:tiphat:

Oh the man is so modest! Clearly Tmac is the Shakespeare of our time ;)

The War of 1812 is rather amusing in being a psychological victory for both sides (actually, AFAIK it ended up pretty much forgotten in Britain proper, but the average citizen of the US or of Canada is very much convinced that their side won).

Insofar as Canada alone (as opposed to the British Empire at large) can be considered to have been involved, I suppose it was in fact a Canadian victory, as the American invasion was repelled, but American war aims had little to do with territorial gains to the north.

"War of 1812" is firmly associated with Napoleon's invasion of Russian Empire here, so it was a few   :uhh: moments trying to figure out what Canada have to do with it. :)

Random question that I always wanted to ask Russian people:

Here in Germany (and I think the rest of Western Europe) we talk about the Eastern Front and the Western Front of both WWs.
Now does Russia have the Western and the Super-Western Front or the Western and the Western 2.0 - Double the front double the fun front?

The second front.
Germany was the front, and the allies "opened the second front", no western or eastern here.

And the invasion of Manchuria was called the far-eastern front, (and probably Manchurian Operation, none of my relatives have been there).

I find text-tone to be most noticeable with sudden case changes. CAPSLOCK IS FOR SHOUTING!

and someone suddenly stops using any capitalisation or punctuation then i can assume that shes having a bad day or just tired

also if smoeone strats spelling thnigs badly then i knwo shes upset :P
