Discoverd this tech demo ran realtime on a PS3, using the graphics engine the Beyond: Two Souls uses:

This is one beautiful short film, and the whole Artificial Intelligence thing ... Imagine having your own robot that would do the chores at home, watch the kids and help cooking. Is this not awesome? Just have to be aware of the Transformers part of the IA tho ...

How many science-fiction entertainment he can ruin?
If he's the Doctor he is suddenly a human from India, who was frozen hibernatically until his sleeper ship crash-landed on Gallifrey, where he stole a TARDIS but was fired on, which lead to the failure of the Chameleon Circuit. Oh yeah, he was hit because he didn't realize there are three dimensions in space instead of one like on the sea and during all this he hooked up with a certain River Song, who was inadvertendly killed by Torchwood agent Jack Harkness under his 23rd century identity James T. Kirk. Also his companions on the sleeper ship were captured by the Gallifreyans who tried to make powerful robot warriors out of them but lost control of them when every order except exterminating were deleted by a virus and ever since tried to save their species from extinction.

Did I butcher this enough or shall I go on?

Aha! I have you! Don't you realize that by laying out this story what you've actually done is reveal your true identity! You're not fooling us anymore.

MattBaker is really Steven Moffat!!

That wasn't exactly his fault, now, was it?

No, both reality and my scenario were a fault by the screenwriter and guys responsible for casting who thought bringing him on would lead to more of his teenage girl fans to go into the movies while at least to me it ruins one of the most interesting, well-presented, likeable and memorable villains into a tool with an english accent for the story of Modern Warfare 2 in space.

Just without the crying about Ghost dying, whose character exposition began and ended with "accent", don't know who that reminds me of...

That's right and Capaldi dies after one episode and is replaced by Colin Mochrie.

And oh yeah, next we cast Sean Bean just to make a joke about a Yorkshire doctor and River Song being his mother just to kill him off because he's Sean Bean, duh.

That's... unexpected. He (well, most of his roles) didn't strike me as particularly teenage girl friendly. Teenage girls must have changed a lot since I had last to do with them (I'd have said David Tennant was a lot more of a teenage girl magnet...).

Heh, I do actually prefer my melees in 3rd person. The lack of field of view is just too large of a handicap...

darn, now I want to play Skyrim after all.

Until watching these videos, I had no wish to do so whatsoever...

I still have it ready on my Steam account, without ever finding the time to install and play it.

The German public TV broadcaster WDR has researched, that nuclear power has caused since its invention damages of over one trillion USD. This includes not only the nuclear accidents, but also economic damages like nuclear fuel factories, that had been only running for a few months.

Alone in Germany, the damages sum up to 150 billion USD.

All this is related to the anniversary of Fukushima, we also had a presentation by scientists yesterday, that proved the Australian PM wrong - the German turn towards renewable energy is no catastrophy or a bad example.

The only people who really suffer under the changes are the big old German energy companies, who all placed their bets on cheap coal power and now learn the hard way, that coal isn't cheap at all - especially when the renewables alone produce way more power during a mild and windy winter then the old nuclear power plants did.

Sure, running trains has also lead to damage in the billions, if you adjust for inflation probably trillions.
"I don't have a car, it could break down and I have to pay money to replace parts." - "But with a car you could get that job where you earn twice as much!" - "As I said, I don't have a car."

If they'd researched the benefits of nuclear power I'd be surprised. Economically as well as technologically.

Have they compared it to other industries?
Or just threw up a big sounding number?

I assume the current one?

Yeah, he is wrong most of the time.

Yeah, but thats getting really deep into Basement material.

(For the rest of the world: He used Germany as bad example for failed energy politics because our prices for electricity are skyrocketing because of the renewable energy law. Which is correct. What is wrong is that the renewable energy is the problem: In reality the problem comes from the many exceptions given to companies. Would some industrial dinosaurs have to pay their share of the electricity, we would have just 0.4 cent/Kwh more, instead of the expectation of 4 cent)

I just felt this news being apolitical enough for Brighton Beach.

No, but then, the methology is not different to what was already used for analysing the development of other industries... for example the damages by mining coal (until today) are also known and calculated the same way.

I played it last time before Christmas, and then I sank in Morrowind again.

Help, am I supposed to buy the normal US, the German or the British (to have the same version as a good friend) version of the announced xkcd book?

Then again I can't explain five minutes of Orbiter in german without wondering what the german term for something is, so...yeah, it's Bahnneigung.
