I am not sure what to think of people who use undocumented one-letter variable names in non-declarative languages. I know the guy who wrote the code in front of me is a better coder than I am, but... seriously dude?
Well, VERY often you simply have straight forward implementations of mathematical or physical formulas... also, using "o" for a generic object is not uncommon. i,j,k,l,m and n are also popular for loops, because they are used that way in mathematics again.
