Orulex is the dynamic scenery generator for Orbiter i am developing for some time already.
Current version information and data links are there:
http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=999

Alpha version from 080527:
http://orbides.1gb.ru/orbf/orulex-080527.zip (700 Kb)
Stand-alone install.

Another re-design since the previous rather unsuccessful attempt ( http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=1336&highlight=orulex ).
There are a number of changes in different areas - from the LOD balancing to microtexture method.

If are going to test it, the thing to look on is appearance, preferrably on hi-res datasets provided in 1.0 thread.
I've tried to balance the system in such a way, as to make the terrain more convincingly stable, the visible changes should be far, and the flickering bugs should be gone. The merging is now temporally aware, meaning that the older blocks will be merged first, that should solve the blinking and ahead-spin merging bugs.

The performance was increased significantly in some parts, but decreased in others, so i'm not sure what the net effect will be. I hope it is positive, since the system is still quite heavy.

Looks gewd D:

Now i may have missed somethin here, but does this involve colision detection? And how about the terrain textures get all messed up when you alt-tab?

Collision detection extension provided in the 1.0 link:

Collision Detection support:
MeshLand 2, WIP version:
http://orbides.1gb.ru/orbf/MLVS-WIP-080327.zip
Installation by standard Unpack&Play, activate MeshLand_2 module.
Unstable.

The alt-tab texture mess up seems to be platform-dependent, and i haven't found a generic solution for it yet.

Hey Atlav, i've been having a recurring problem with this version of orulex, everytime i try and make an earth-moon transfer the program crashes upon loading the lunar heightmap. I'm using the xr1 and IMFD.

Oh my god, its increadbile, I cant find any other words to describe it.

You have made orbiter Offically better than SSM2007.

I've just had a serious hardware upgrade, and now orulex runs at 30fps and the pre-calculation lasts 3 seconds.

However a strange texture bug showed up:

Hm.
Is the Moon shows fine/no CTD if you just start on it?

Is there a problem if you start on Earth, wait till it reaches equilibrium, then switch to a vessel on the Moon? To Mars, then Moon?

Is there any relationship to the XR1, IMFD, etc, or does it fails on clean install?

If it works Ok on clean install, then try disabling addons one by one to find the culprit.

Looks strange.
What are your new hardware specs? GPU, RAM?
Vista per chance?
Do you have multithreading mode on?

The Cpu is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core 5200 2.61 GHz, the ram is 1GB and the graphic card is a ATI Raden HD 2600 PRO.
I use Windows XP, and multithreading is on, tried turning it off, same thing.

It looks like the individual blocks have the texture in four stripes in the incorrect order.

if i load a scenario which starts on the moon it works fine.

with the same configuration it also works with the lunar transfer tutorial that comes with orbiter.

I have not had time to properly try the latest version, but I also had this problem in V1.0
Im pretty sure that removing the heightmap solved it.. but those heightmaps are just too good :)
