Oceanic: How do you got this high speed with swift1 in atmosphere?
I tried it and reached escape velocity but as I get more speed that just escape vel I cannot hold the altitude even if I pull the full pitch?
Then I', flying out to space...
Is there a trick?

I had the MFDs on, but they didn't show up in the VC (As you can see). I didn't use my HUD, because all I had to do was undock, and wait for the Soyuz. I generally judge dockings visually anyway :)

I get that when I run Orbiter on my laptop. Switching desktop color bit depth to 16-bit takes care of it for me.

fly upside down, use full trim and watch your vertical speed. if you reached 50km altitude don't let it go beyond 100m/s it's really hard to recover from that at your speed. if you reach ~15km/s at 78km it is to late, you can say goodbye to plane earth. try holding your altitude as low as possible (but still flying upside down)

new record ;) but pilot and plane are lost in space

Big station you've got there tex!

The MSS (MySpaceStation) left the design boards. a few details are still left open for debate but this will not delay the 1st phase of the construction.

Thanks! I just through it together with the scenario editor using 4 ProjectISS's all connected with some standard modules. The lower part extends far enough away from the station allowing larger spacecraft to dock, including Deepstar. I was going to release the scenario, but I might look into making the station all one vessel else there are a lot of vessels in the scenario.

Very nice, I like this! :)

My favourite country (The Maldives) as visible from orbit (these are the times I wish I could wait 5 hours for the high-resolution Earth texture pack to download):

there i fixed that for you ;)

if you want i could split up the lv10 earth file and throw it on a web space

Thanks - I meant what I said first time - my internet connection is extremely slow.

I will probably get round to it one day.

Do the new textures usually register a significant performance decrease?

unfortunately there is a performance loss, at least on my old machine.

i'm using a packard bell notebook with 1.5ghz cpu 512mb ram and a intel 915 videocard
when i use the LVL10 Earth texture i'm loosing about 7fps which is not that bad if you consider the beauty that the texture gives you.
however the annoying thing is that the Orbiter loading time takes at least 30 seconds longer.

The construction of the MSS has begun.

With all the space stations being built I decided to start planning my own. Here is a rough plan of the construction:

I've updated it a bit, getting closer to a final design!
