In VLEO (Very Low Earth Orbit) for the first time in Linux natively.

I didn't know about the new DeltaGlider radiator animation.

Cuz, why not?

This is all for testing ship animations in Orbiter under Linux. Thanks to @Gondos for porting Orbiter to UNIX-likes and to @martins for releasing the source code for this great simulator.

 :hailprobe:

How do you deal with all the win-api UI code in there? Do you have to rewrite all that, or are there some wrapper libs around?

It needs a complete rewrite :\
The point of this branch is to see what can be done with Dear ImGui but I think it's enough for most purposes.
Here I gave a try at the playback editor and the XR5 payload editor, you can do some nice stuff (and I really suck at UI...) :Capture d’écran du 2022-05-17 11-24-12.pngCapture d’écran du 2022-05-17 11-24-25.png :

Also it supports "multi-viewports" allowing to drag windows outside the main one :

Man, we're still a way off...
Real noob with NASSP, is the escape tower supposed to jettison by itself? Same thing with second stage separation, nothing happens when first stage runs out of fuel...

It has something to do with the "/Orbiter/Config/ProjectApollo/Earth_VirtualAGC/Base/Canaveral_VirtualAGC.cfg" file. If you remove the entries from BEGIN_SURFTILELIST to END_SURFTILELIST at the end of the file then these black areas are gone.

Sunrise in Lunar orbit. X5 on approach for refueling.
Approach.jpg
Ready to Dock

The following screen captures are from the X5 docked. This lunar space station was built over the course of 282 X5 flights from Brighton Beach to deliver modules using the IMS 1.0 system in Orbiter 2010 P1. The solar arrays and radiators are not deployed as I never 'combined' the stationinto a single ship. When fully assembled there are about a dozen solar arrays and about 50 radiators of various types and sizes, and a single hab ring that rotates. There are tanks for all types of fuels including RP1, LOX, and LOH. Most of the radiators are placed to shield the LOX and LOX tanks when deployed and are not needed for cooling the on board modules.

This took the better part of a year to fly each of the 282 missions. I'm just now posting these photos as I finally got high speed internet access to my home and could not upload these photos over the slower speed that I've had to deal with for the last 22 years.

Yeah, looks real cool. Experimenting with normal maps on that could give very interesting results :hailprobe:

Looking great! I would recommend some kind of adjustment to the atmosphere as well. That unnatural arc of color has bothered me since I installed O2016.

If you have the d3d9 client you can mess around with the atmospheric options and change the colors of pretty much any sky.

Yeah, but I think for the normal maps to work on clouds they need to be configured as transparent and not opaque like the default jupiter clouds, which have 100% coverage. If someone knows a way I think it would be worth giving it a try.
