Classic retro-future. A spacecraft concept inspired by the 'Round The Moon' design of Wernher von Braun and the Collier's illustrations by Chesley Bonestell. First released as a plastic model kit by Lindberg in 1958 as the 'U.S. Moon Ship.' Re-issued (with new box art) in the 1960s as the 'Mars Probe Landing Module' - then again in the 1970s as the 'Star Probe Space Shuttle.' Finally, in the 1990s, Glencoe re-issued the model (new box art again and different decals) and called it the 'Lunar Lander'. I have the Lindberg 'Star Probe' version, which I built years ago, sitting on a shelf.

My (Blender/Multistage2015) model for Orbiter borrows from all of the above (and is scaled appropriately), but fidelity is less than 100% - I made some changes in the vertical supports and landing legs, and eliminated the bottom tier of horizontal struts that are included in the plastic models (The von Braun/Bonestell designs did not include either set of horizontal struts, and lacked landing legs altogether - as the ship was intended strictly for travel in space, among orbiting or otherwise off-planet stations.).

Here a SpaceTug is used to extend the range of the CrewDragon. The tug is a modifed DragonXL with SuperDraco engines and habitation space. Two drop tanks are lifted into low Earth orbit by FalconHeavies and are attached to the sides of the tug. This provides an additional dV of 5.6 km/s .

If your operating system is Linux, then the 1969 project might be UNIX.

Linux, exactly!
If you want to enter the wonderful world of Linux a good option is Manjaro (if your computer is 64bit) it has the latest of the latest updated programs. If your computer is 32bit or you want a system that doesn't require as many updates you can download Debian. If you need help don't hesitate to contact me. I don't know much about computers but I know a bit about Linux.

By the way it is CDE or NsCDE? because I understand that CDE is not very secure and the code is very old. But a user of FVWM created a kind of desktop CDE (the NsCDE or Not so Common Desktop Environment) that is much more functional and I currently use it when I am on battery because it uses few resources.

OpenCDE is quite complicated to build, with dependencies on packages not existing anymore. Managed to compile it on a 64bit gentoo on a RPI3 a while ago but it was quite a hassle...
So yeah, NsCDE is the way to go, on Linux Mint;)

This is all for testing ship animations in Orbiter under Linux. Thanks to @Gondos for porting Orbiter to UNIX-likes and to @martins for releasing the source code for this great simulator.
