Houston, we thought we'd start building a little ship, and then insanity ensued:

Prometheus, built by Nexiss during some hard-core IMS testing.

Also, our other tester PeterRoss took an IMS vessel beyond the confines of the solar system for the first time:

Curiously, the heat dynamics were a bit unexpected and rather similiar to those from our sun instead from this particular star, but with full EPP-integration that will very soon change.

So what's a guy supposed to do when his rendezvous with the ISS is cancelled? Head for the bright lights of course!

Just moments after levelling of at about 20km, both scram and main engine smoke visible.

Scramming along over the New Jersey coast...

Making a pass over Wallops Island, shame nothing's launching today...

Banking a little to stay on course over Chesapeake Bay.

Both scram and main thrust at about 5%, fuel tanks at 70%, hull temps at a steady 300 'C, moving at about a mile every one or two seconds. Feelin' groovy!

Engines off, scrams closed, gliding towards the Big Apple.

Coming up the Hudson, just after going sub-sonic. Hope I don't have to ditch her...

Wheels down, on final, La Guardia.

Wheel stop, with a few moments to admire the view...

...and a little tarmac to spare!

A little behind with posting screenshot's of the Skylab-5 mission but here are a few new ones.

Time to raise our orbit

Payload for this mission: PMA and the logistics carrier

After a (relative) slow catch-up we're underneath the station

Getting aligned with the docking port (this will be the last time for the shuttle to dock to the APAS-75 docking port)

Not very clear in this image, but Atlantis is docked to Skylab-II! In the background you can see the moon)

After 7 months of unmanned flight, Skylab-II received a crew for 8 days. This mission brings continued presence of humans aboard Skylab-II a step closer.

Black: Tarmac/Runway (for a shuttle type ship?)
Gray: Taxiways and maintenance surfaces
Green: Small Hangars
Purple: Large Hangars
Dark Red: VAB
Orange: Launch pad
Pink: Fueling facilities
Brown: Admin buildings/Mission Control
Dark Blue: ATC tower
Light Blue: Fuel pipes
Blue: Flame Trench

They're testing a new ascent pattern the 'crashalot' ascent...it involved bouncing off the ground...and LOTS of asplosions.


Narrowed down the possible site for the Facility (Recommend you disable Orulex if you have it...it makes things...bumpy)

They're testing a new ascent pattern the 'crashalot' ascent...it involved bouncing off the ground...and LOTS of asplosions.

Well, curiously, the thing had enough raw power to sustain itself in the air. The autopilot found an "equilibrium" between (insane) dynamic pressure and (insane) thrust, to fly horizontally with an AoA of 30°. Straight North, into the populated areas. :uhh:
