Enter to Install subfolder of Orbiter and execute vcredist_x86.exe, and install it.

Exactly. Just so you don't think it's a virus or something, it will install the C++ Redistributable Package, which helps you run other applications.

Did you really reboot before trying to install the 2nd and 3rd time?
This is essential....

I'm quite sure that this error is because the Redistributabe Package is not there, because I've recently upgraded my computer and I got this same message, and after I installed it it worked fine.

Another shortcut you can use to bring up task manager is ctrl-shift-esc.
