Software Orbiter 2024 does not open

I used to take long breaks from Orbiter and this forum due of the academic pressure. But as I have heard of Orbiter 2024, I have just installed it and tried to open both Orbiter.exe and Orbiter_ng.exe using my Windows 11 24H2 laptop. But none of the two opens. No logs appear, just a window briefly appearing before getting closed immediately. As a programmer I also need to know how to detect such problems.

Maybe Windows blocks the application. For example, when I firstly run Orbiter_ng.exe (I don't use Orbiter.exe) after Orbiter installation on my Windows 10 I get a blue Windows screen and should allow launching (just once).

I had the same (or similar) experience in early January, shortly after Orbiter 2024 was released. The solution was to copy zlib.dll from the Orbiter root directory into the Modules\Server directory. I thought this had been fixed, so I'm not sure this applies to your situation. Check your Modules\Server directory and see if zlib.dll is present. If not, copy it from the root directory.

Also, whether or not you see it, Orbiter should generate a log file each time you invoke the application. It lives inside the root directory; name = Orbiter.log - a simple text file that can be opened in Notepad.
