Hi all,
I've finally mastered manual reentry in the Delta Glider IV but have a question regarding the target surface bases for Earth.
In my last flight I undocked the DGIV from the ISS, turned prograde and performed a deorbit burn with my retros, watching Aerobrake MFD the whole time to see where I would end up landing. I didn't really care where as I was just practicing reentry but was pleased to see that my landing point was very close to Overberg base in S. Africa.
I performed a nice manual reentry with the help of Aerobrake MFD, setting AoA and bank angle just right for a landing at Overberg. However, when I got there, I couldn't see any runway whatsoever.
Are all the bases in Orbiter supposed to have a runway or are they just convenient place names with no actual place to land? I was quite disappointed to come out of reentry and find my runway missing!
Any help much appreciated as always.
