Right you are! accelerating to 7km/sec. in 5ft is close to 1 million g's. If you just sign up overthere at the google group you could see what we are talking about. There is a disscusion about our software development. Im not going to wright it over in every forum. We really arent kidding and we really are doing this.

Well I just looked at your google group and saw the phrase "I stole the idea" and for that reason, as they say o na certain popular Brit TV show, I'm out.

State of the art.

What is this?

I wish you luck, but don't beleve that your team reach and 10 km.

Err, what exactly is the fuel that you are using to fire the satellite out of the gun-contraption? It had better be something spiffy if it's going to overcome to rather vast quantities of deltaV that one needs to reach orbit...

The mass ratio between projectile and gun should also be important. The lighter you make the gun, the less velocity you will finally get as more of the energy produced by the powder charge ends inside the gun. Not accounting a higher risk of mechanical failures, as a light gun in free fall reacts pretty unpredictable to recoil.

I think the gun concept is the too direct path.

Well the mass is seemingly heaver because the rocket engine is accelerating the gun! A light Gas Gun works on the principal that the speed of sound is faster in a light gas like Helium or Hydrogen and can there for accelerate to hypervelocity. A single Shot Gun shell can accelerate the projectile to hypervelocity in Hydrogen! This is all real science guys. Our hardware is cheap and dirty but we will get the job done this is some of our first hardware for testing Propellant burn rates it gets better just watch!

I dident steal anything that matters dude. Ask JP Aerospace if you like.
Its not like a bootlegg copy of some game if thats what your thinking

Your Loss. whatever

Not really, no.

I wasn't htinking anything like that, stealing launch methods and ideas is, to me, much more serious than stealing some computer game. Anyway, I do hope that you haven't stolen anything and that it was just unfortunate word use on your part. You have a lot of ideas and a lot of enthusiasm, so I wish you the best.

Well the mass is seemingly heaver because the rocket engine is accelerating the gun!

You are not even close to the speed of light at this point, so what makes you think that the mass of the gun increases? Also, when the rocket engine is still accelerating the gun, doesn't that mean that you waste fuel?

And how does that solve the problem that firing a gun will in reality also create torques, unless you have a stable mounting? Do you think the powder inside the gun will burn perfectly even?

If I were you, I would NOW quickly stop. Take a deep breath. And then brainstorm all possible solutions. Next, you should analyze which solution works best. And then select the best one for your skills and budget.

This is all real science guys.

That is Galileo's gravity model also. But that will not make stuff work in reality.

Seriously, this isn't kindergarten. Grow up. If you want to have tit-for-tat spats then do it in PMs. Keep the useful discussion on the threads.

"You are not even close to the speed of light at this point, so what makes you think that the mass of the gun increases? Also, when the rocket engine is still accelerating the gun, doesn't that mean that you waste fuel?"

The kinetic energy of the launcher moving forward counteracts the recoil and helps stabilize the torque reactions of propelling the projectile. That’s why the engine fires just before firing the launcher. Newton Law here nothing fancy.

We have a nice forum now over at the website teamprometheus.org I hope you guys are successful in whatever endeavor’s you attempt and I was just hoping for some help I don’t expect you would do that for something you don’t believe in.

I hope you don’t mind we added a link to your site from ours because we believe in you. Nice software ya got there guys.
