Is anyone enjoying the meteor shower tonight? :)

Just two days ago I dreamed of meteor showers. I was watching them from the garden of my fathers house. There were some impressive impacts in the neighbourhood. It wasn't really a bad dream, but it felt rather strange when I woke up. I did not read anything about the upcoming meteor shower before in the internet or somewhere else. So I can't explain what was the cause of the dream.

One hour ago I checked the weather for tomorrow, online. And there was a small article about the meteor shower which is going to reach it's peak tonight. I looked out the window and already saw two meteorites.

There are strange coincidences in life sometimes. And this is one of them. When I read the article about the shower, I remembered my dream which I had two days ago. I immediately got goosepimples :uhh:

I sure am going to watch the night sky tonight. Forecast here = Clear skies all the way:D

I saw an ISS pass and one single meteor. it was a bit disappointing so I am hoping for more tonight.

I tried last night, and while I saw a bright ISS pass (probably the same as Gary), I didn't see any meteors. I did, however, see a few bright ones on the nights preceding the shower, when I was also watching the ISS. One of them made a nice ion trail! I guess they were early Perseids.

It was an awesome sight tonight. The moon, jupiter above, venus below, and above all this up to ten meteors per hour and more in the starlit sky. I used my 900mm reflecting telescope to have a closer look. Jupiter and its moons offered a breath-taking sight.

Every year around this time, I get to observe an interesting phenomenon. I heard it's called "clouds". Any of you guys seen em yet?

Yea... :(

He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.

Had a clear as crystal night last night, saw a good 15-20 of 'em. It was great. I believe I would have seen more perseids had the city not been so close.

i also saw the ISS around sometime between 10 and 11. There was bioluminescent ocean and tidepools, and about 20-30 meteors. quit watching around 1 am, saw some really good one with tails and a flash, didn't know if it was a meteor coming straight at us or a satellite flare.... it's always cloudy here so i felt really lucky. probably the best I've ever seen up here.

Didn't think you lived in the UK?!?

Thanks for the hint. Sometimes I don't understand the most simple messages. Seems that I misunderstood his post

Anyway: saw a very bright ISS pass yesterday, accompanied by some meteors. Do they see it from the ISS as well? Must look strange, since it happens below them.

Artificially bright sky in the backyard, and I didn't attempt to go to the front yard for the sake of people sleeping at 2am. :P
Pictures online reveal a pretty good show
