Discussion Mesh making with Blender

It still lacks an airship landing area though.

I thought the green grass is good for that...

I have another problem with airships. The front and rear wheels of the Zeppelin NT aren't at the same level when the airship is horizontal, so it makes difficult to land it, since the required landing pitch isn't zero. It's hard because of the hover engine I'm using for landing. I can rotate the whole airship about 3.12 degrees:

But in this case it will fly in such a non-horizontal position (and it's bad too). I was thinking of making a retractable (animated) long rear landing gear, but it will look strange.

And it looks like Orbiter works more stable when touchdown points are located at the same altitude.

Well, the real airship doesn't land on the rear wheels. They are just for maneuvering the ship in the hangar. You would need a mooring mast vehicle to properly let the fly that way it was supposed. And when the airship has docked to the mooring mast, it is still not touching the ground until the mast height is lowered.

So, it Orbiter terms, and its possible to do in 2016, you just need to dock the zeppelin to its mooring mast.

(Also, the NT only controls its bouyancy by inflating airbags and the propellers. On a nominal flight, no Helium is valved. And it has no ballast like the older airships, only tiltable engines.)

I don't see the ClassName displayed in game. I created a vessel on Lua:

So, in the vessel list (F3), Scenario Editor, and SCN file I see the only vessel name and "NEAT/Blue", but I don't see the "ZeppelinNT(Blue)" anywhere.

What about you remove such special characters like ( and ) from your class name. Orbiter doesn't like that in class Names

I deleted those two characters, but the ClassName isn't still displayed. And the vessel information (Ctrl I) says, thet the class is "NEAT/Blue". Maybe the "ClassName" input in the vessel CFG on Lua is ignored, I don't know.

Could you also make these special trucks?

If only sometime in the future. Honestly, I'm a little tired of mesh making of ground objects :) Next I'm going to try making some fictional space station I saw in a movie.

A fictional space station (from a movie) I'd like to make. A screenshot from Orbiter:

Maybe someone knows it :)

I think the first one looks better, although the reference picture is closer to the second one:

And does anyone know the name of the texture of such a cylinder?:

I searched for it like "corrugated metal", but I didn't find anything similar.

Thank you! "Radiator texture" leads to a very similar result:
