Am I the only English speaker who had to look up what "crispation" means?

That is, after giving up on "colistière" altogether.

I find crispation in a dictionary but not colistière ( is that an english word ? )

Grandmother of Barack Obama deceased today.

Edit

It is a word of the French vocabulary usually used in policy who wants to say: on the same list. Co/list. You could say: on the same ticket. I know that in the case you say : a VP. The meaning is not exactly the same but i prefer to use the generic term, "colistière".

Your explanation of "colistière" makes sense, thanks!

"Crispation" may be an English word (noun: a curling or being curled; a slight, involuntary contraction of the muscles or skin) but lacks context next to "all grins." What is the French word being translated? Something to do with happy faces? :)

Obama's grandmother just died hours before the election.
Maybe we can stop this senseless bickering for a while ?

Wether you like the guy or not you have to feel sorry for what he must be going through at this crucial time.

dougkeenan,

I did not see this : "all " grins. " ...any contractions, no more grins " was can be preferable. I wanted to say, for grins , "grimaces" ( in french) . I think that it must be similar, yes, to happy faces. And happy face was certainly a better word.

Yes, Yoda.

David,
Remember, don't forget that Rumsfeld sold him the gas... mua ha ha ha...

Of all the evils of the killer the supplier must also have some guilt...
And OMG the white house favors the actions taken by the white house... how novel.

i just know that even after tommorow this thread is still gonna be posted on.

For Probe's sake it's almost over. The moment of truth is soon.

I'll just post my prediction quickly: Obama 337 vs McCain 201.

More precisely, in the toss up states, ND, MT, FL and IN will vote for McCain, the remainder for Obama. McCain will not suffer the humilation of losing in AZ.

I think the results will become much closer together as most predict today, it is also hard to estimate how people react on both candidates having public campaign events today.

If you listen to the American media, it sounds like Obama won it three weeks ago. They really are in the tank for this guy. If he loses, we may see the first reporter riot in history.

The first? The first in November 2008 maybe. :P

Actually, all fans of Obama should not forget one important rule of spaceflight: You should never praise the flight before the landing.

But chances are good that he will win...

Okay... so the BIG day is here. My predication, if McCain wins Penn, then he'll win. If Obama wins Virginia and South Carolina, then he wins.
