Updates Mars Science Laboratory (Curiosity)

40,000 miles to go. Mars is now big enough to see some features. :hailprobe:

NASA TV is showing live(I presume) video from the JPL support center.

My name is on that thing (along with a few thousand others)!

It will be amazing if they pull off this landing. That's one crazy landing mechanism that Curiosity has.

I'm also wondering when this this thing is going to be an Orbiter addon! :)

Got my mars control room all set-up. JIT!

Mars is presenting quite the view. Reminiscent of the early Apollo photos of earth.. in terms of size and framing.

The size of mars is visibly getting larger every few seconds.

Good luck Curiosity, I have my fingers crossed, and may the :probe: be with you!

5 mins after entry, the descent stage will swing around the dark side of mars and all telemetry direct from the rover will be lost. We'll be relying on MRO and ODY to pick up the slack.

The rover just received its last transmission from earth - till it comes to rest on the surface.

Are you guys watching this on ustream? They're showing a corny drasmatization with dramatic music.
