I'm more than one month late, but here it is:


This allows for the next Soyuz "short visiting crew" to dock at the ISS during the 2 visitors' 10 day stay.

The next Progress flight - moved forward after M-27M's demise - is currently scheduled on October 1st.
 
Report on Progress M-29M

With the other two "frequent freight carriers" to the ISS still knocked out of service, the importance of keeping up the Russian logistics line is vital to the station's operations. Yet with the accident back in April, a replacement flight needs to be flown to keep up the stance of deliveries.

Thus Progress M-29M, originally not planned to launch until spring 2016, has been called up months before hand to fill in the gap caused by the loss of M-27M. With the Russians planning to introduce yet another upgrade to the Progress/Soyuz line (Progress-MS & Soyuz-MS; more on that when Progress MS-1 flies in November), M-29M, the last of the M-M series, would have flown after the first two MS series proved themselves, but the April accident knocked the plans off. Instead, it and Progress MS-1 will keep the ISS running until the next Cygnus flight finally flies as early as December.

Hopefully the local priests have already :hailprobe: before hand....... :hmm:

Progress MS-1 flight report

While one rocket's RTF is slipping to tomorrow, we still have an important first flight of a new generation of spacecraft in support of the ISS.

The first flight of the Progress-MS series is now minutes away from liftoff from Baikonur. This 4th generation of the venerable Progress family features lots of important improvements over the current Progress M-M series, of which the last of them is already parked at the ISS.

Major improvements of the Progress-MS series includes:

- a new version of the Kurs rendezvous system, named Kurs-NA. The number of exterior antennas was reduced from 6 to just 3, while getting much better theoretical accuracy.
- a new flight control system that allows Progress to determine its orbit using navigation satellites (GLONASS of course), without the absolute need of ground station tracking
- antennae that allows the Progress spacecraft to communicate with "Russia's TDRS", the Luch system
- better meteoroid shielding
- new cameras and lightning system
- new back-up electric docking probe driving system
- new external supports for deploying up to 4 cubesats per mission (from Progress MS-3 onwards)

These features will be fitted to the Soyuz spacecraft from Soyuz MS-1 onwards (due to fly in June next year).

Also, this is the first flight since the April accident that the Progress is put on top of the newer Soyuz-2.1a rocket, and the 3rd time overall. So :hailprobe: for the spacecraft to complete its mission!
