Iron Hill Project Thread

The current state today. You can notice a small change in the PeA, it's because I corrected the orbit that was changing because of some gravitacional "fights" between the Moon, the Earth and the Sun in this area...

I can still be evil overlord commander of Odyssey for the Mercury mission

That's fine, since I'm scratching the extra crew positions for Odyssey--we'll fly her ourselves--and I'll take the pilot's seat:)

But we still need two more crewmen for Chronus. This morning I sent out two more invitations to join the team, still waiting for a response. Let's get on that recruiting drive;)

And I'm talking with the Lusophone group, and a friend told that he's interested on the mission...

Awesome! Have him post his Orbiter resume and I'll interview him:)

I talked to Scattycat and Spacethingy. Both respectfully declined:( I'm off to look for two more...

What is the Lusophone Group?

The lusophone countries are countries that speak Portuguese (Brazil, Portugal, Angola...)
and in the international forum we can speak in portuguese, so we created the Lusophone Group...

Ah, like the Francophone group:)

Odyssey, Houston. Morning, guys:) We've been running some computer models of those new engines. Looks like they'll do you pretty good on Mercury:) But if the mechanics install them right, you'll need to go real easy on the throttle when you take off, or you'll jump off the pad like a jackrabbit and cover the whole base in flaming moon dust:lol:

And Felipi, good job with the press release:)
Just one thing you need to change: Lydia didn't go on the Chronus flight, RickD did. Lydia was the one who stayed behind;)

Corrected...
Another trick : I'll be always updating the informations of the Odyssey in the Iron Hill Mission Updates, so you'll know the almost real-time information of the spacecraft, based on my computer...

Odyssey, Houston. Time for your nightly update. We think you guys have about 36 hours to go:) How are things shakin'?

I did some admin paperwork today, did some Taxes, ate some cupcakes...and finally found that Ipod, and shoved it out the airlock.

Umm, is this related?

(I think it's actually related to LotR, though, and I'm not an LotR fan.)

Good data, Odyssey:thumbup:
I guess I could call the 50 boxes of cupcake mix (don't ask) as business expenses
It would help. And you could claim one hell of a mileage deduction next year;)
Umm, is this related?
Not sure, but in LotR there is a place in Middle Earth called the Iron Hills. It way up in the northwest, in Dwarf territory...
OOOOPS! I'm late!!! And finally the music of this Ipod is getting out of my head!!!
Actually, I hate to tell you this, but I think the Ipod is (was:() mine. I thought I saw it coming loose from my belt while we were seeing you through the docking hatch...

New contact!
We're having a nice visual of the Moon here. Waiting for the reactivation of the main engines tomorrow, two hours before of the LOI. The land will happen in the Saturday...

Orbit corrected, the REF of the Orbit MFD now is the Moon, and we can see it in the sky, close to the Sun.

Copy, Odyssey. We'll send you some final instructions tommorow night:)
In the mean time, I have some new work for you. Could you edit the texture for our uniforms (unsuited)? I'd like to have the Iron Hill logo on the right breast pocket, and each person's team logo on the other pocket.

Also, we are getting to work on that crew manifest issue, with the funny looking names. I'm going to try something tonight that might fix it;)

OK, I'll edit the uniforms tomorrow during the "parking orbit" phase...

And don't forget to start a recording before firing your engines;)
Also, could you contact your friend from the Lusophone group and have him post a greeting here? I'd really like to interview him for the pilot slot!
