I think it doesn't feature a IR camera and some solar instruments. It was designed for "natural" targets with atmospheres...

It suddenly occurs to me that you shouldn't need to develop anything for the lunar mission. We can just use a couple of UCGO boxes to simulate the mass/weight of the new engines and installation/upgrade equipment, and stay on the moon for two days "installing" everything, and on April 3 or 4, I'll post the upgraded cfg file and you can fly her home

Just something I noticed: it's a terribly minor detail, but can someone create a Brazilian flag kit for UCGO? I'd like to have all the countries involved be honored

Some rock picks and a mass spectrometer for the geology team
An IR camera and a spectroscope for the solar studies team

Everything else can be done with SSK.

Ack, I didn't think...Odyssey will be making the lunar hop...since she will need the new engines:facepalm:
The position you want is up to you:tiphat: Cross-trained work is fine for the lunar trip, i.e. two people from the Mercury base crew will fly Odyssey to the moon, perform the upgrade, and then fly back to Earth in time for the Mercury launch.

The Arrow Freighter Odyssey is supposed to fly to the moon for an engine upgrade. When the upgrade is complete, she will fly back to Earth. And then in late April, she will set out for Mercury.

Perhaps it would make more sense to scrap the lunar mission, and use spacewalks to install the new engines in LEO?

Yeah, what does the commander do?

This question has been troubling me for some time, actually I've been quietly sweeping it under the rug
IRL, I suppose the commander would be giving the orders, and the pilot would enter them into the computer. But that would be impractical here. I guess the commander would just be a UMMU with the name of the person from the forum.

I'm sorry I didn't think about this sooner. But if you would like to fly Odyssey, you can use me as commander. Just make a crewman with the following data: Name, TMac3000. Age: 33. Function: Cmdr
