I'd like to get a job in Geology :P

However, I'd like to know what exactly each position does (including those already taken, out of curiosity). I know you said that we should PM you for this, but I think it would be best for everyone to know this information. Put it in the first post, maybe? Sorry, I remembered you said in the other thread you would prepare a document with details. I'll wait for that one.

Geology team will take regolith samples and bring them back to the base
Solar Studies team will be hanging out at a small observation base outside the crater.

OK, very well, but what does this mean, exactly? What do I have to do (IRL)? What is the connection to Orbiter? I understand it's real time, what if I can't chat when you are? Maybe I'm just tired, but I don't get it, sorry.

Anyway, this sounds interesting and I can't believe this has been going on for a few months now and I only hear about it today  Any plans for the future? Sure, the outer planets are way too far away, but we could fully explore the rocky planets, then maybe build a space station or something?

We use Quakenet to communicate whenever we do anything. Instructions for using it can be found in the Iron Hill thread. One person runs Orbiter and performs the related tasks, and tries to be descriptive about what they are doing, while the others tune in.

For example: If you have to make an excursion to build a small research station, you would download the latest state file (we post them quite constantly), open Orbiter, load the modules on to a rover, and build the station, while telling us via chat what you are doing. And since we are not using OMP, you would be able to use our UMMUs as well as your own:)

As for the future, I do have something even more ambitious planned. It's called the Deep Six Project, and we'll design and build our own ship for it.

New item added to add-on requirements. Please see post #1 ;)

I just looked at the planned Mercury's ground location and it's great ! Just a little thing, the Earth isn't visible at this place until the November 19, 2012. So a sattelite will be good to download/upload data !

You know, now that you mention it, it might be an interesting mission to add a bigger radio module to MESSENGER, so it can be used for voice communications with Earth...

Interceptor has officially left the project, so we're back to the crew selection phase.
Geology team has one slot open:)
I may do an active recruiting drive to try and fill it:shifty:

B-Crew Roll Call:)

I need everyone to sound off if you're still going.

Well after all this Id think Id be going . I also thought Id mention that Im going to include a quote on the dedication plaque for Discovery when we do the final release

Roger that TMac, participation confirmed. Forum post finished, ready for next mission phase, awaiting instructions, over and out.

Okay, I'm officially opening two backup flight crew positions for the Vanguard ferries. Applicants will need full-on experience with the Vangaurd, including SCRAM flight and unpowered reentry. European Orbinauts are especially welcome, due to the time difference.

I'd love to join the team :). I can bring the whole XR fleet to orbit and back to Earth.

This is great stuff, guys. I'm posting so I can subscribe to this thread.

I was about to post on the main Iron Hil thread, when I saw this.
I am experienced with the XR-Series, mainly XR1 and the Ravenstar, but I know my Vanguard, too. I would love to join.
