Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer.

6 Docking Ports for any ship or:
   -Dock1: fits the Tyd. Shuttle.
   -Dock2: fits the Corvette.
-Docks 3 and 4: fits Tie Fighter and/or Interceptor.
   -Dock5: fits the Slave1
-Dock6: hides the M. Falcon behind the bridge!

Enjoy!

I can only take credit for the model. I cannot take credit for any texture!  It ALL goes to marcogavezzeni and are from his EXCELLENT Star Wars models.

Nicely done...my 2nd favorite ship in the SW Universe...second only to the Venator-class cruiser.

That's a big ship

thanks this is awesome!! I had it race Apollo 11 to orbit. Obviously the Star Destroyer won, but the rocket held it's own at the for quite a while.

Your nerd memory is correct, jededia. Just pulled out the Star Wars Essential Guide to Vehicles to check.

Very nice ship ! Powerful RCS, realistic but one problem : when landed, the Destroyer is still 600 m high...

Thanks! Honestly I didn't think about measuring it...I don't know how long it is. I just scaled it to look right with some pics of the Millennium Falcon hiding. I wonder what it came out to be? As far as 600 m goes, I did it intentionally...looked too cool hovering over everything else. If ya want to lower it, just mess with the landing points in the Config. First time I landed it, it was below sea level:blush: Let me know of any bugs! I didn't spend much time with the config...just enough to feel right maneuvering in space. Had to release it in a hurry. I rescued the model from a crashing HDD that I hadn't backed up yet...talk about having a heart attack! So I wanted to get it out ASAP!

Star Destroyers don't land, they hover menacingly. It is perfect!

I think its better if it just hovers above the ground...let the Shuttles do all the unloading. :P

Star Destroyers are not meant to land or enter atmosphere as far as I imagine.

Great ship, by the way. Thanks a lot!

Yeah, setting that thing down should be very unhealthy for both the ship and the ground....

They are known (or at least thought) to come into atmospheres. It's a popular idea, anyway.

and these aren't ALL exactly Star Destroyers, but the other ones are early models, I think...

I had thought that one of the chief differences between the Imperial I and II -class star destroyers and the previous ones was that the Imperial class were unable to enter atmosphere while previous (smaller) ones like the Victory were...but according to Wookieepedia, they all can enter the atmosphere (with the obvious exception of the supers).

That was my understanding, garnered from video games, of course

1600 m in length, if my nerd-memory serves me right...

your right but there are two other things bigger than it....in length that is...

yea the UNSC Infinity...and the other...it not even a space ship...

Actually, I imagine it would be able to be done with a specially designed graving dock. If they are basically anti-grav capable, It would actually be in some ways easier to do construction and repair work on them on the ground; thus I could easily see such graving docks being available on certain worlds.

Reference a very old sci-fi book series called "cities in flight". At one point they had to land the city of New York, which had been turned into a spacecraft some centuries before.

@ajhspace:  the girls high school... Lololololololol

Wookipiedia says there is a super star destroyer that is 19km in length. The girls high school could land on it.

Hielor: Did you ever read the "X-Wing" series? They had to deal with a SSD that was hidden in the surface of Coruscant, then blasted out and lifted off and then jumped to hyperspace pronto. They used a repulsorlift "sled" under it to launch and shield it from ground fire. The SSD got away... for a while. Wedge and company captured it later :P

Impstars CAN go endoatmospheric, but it's a scary proposition. Venators, Acclamators, and even the never-shown Victory class ships can (and regularly did) duck into the atmosphere to launch direct attacks on ground targets. Typically a sign that your day was about to get REALLY bad...
