I saw a mention of Orbiter 2010 out there on the Interwebs thingie and was really pleased to see it's finally been released. I installed it with a fresh install and, mirabile dictu, it worked great from the first attempt to start it. The speed of start-up and improvements in the interface jumped right out at me, rusty as my memories of Orbiter 2006 were ...
I'm not going to have much time to try to reignite my romance with Orbiter for weeks, but I wonder if anyone has tips for getting the most out of the new version. For instance, I've got that old installation of Orbiter sitting there with hundreds of megs of addons (including one or two I made back in the Cretaceous period). Any ideas about how to best migrate those over to see if any of them work on the new version? Also, is the default installation of the new version starting up with the highest resolution planetary surface textures running, or do I need to do anything, download higher-res textures?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated ... and a big thank you to Martin and the others who've worked so hard to keep Orbiter fresh!!!
