Vessel Finishing what stevecast Started

I think he meant the link for the Babylon 4 mesh, which was one of the few models not available from Celestia Motherlode.
Sorry, my bad.
Also, when I talked about releasing it, I assumed you would be the one doing so. Sorry if I was a bit unclear there.
I don't care who releases it.
I've hardly been involved, you can add my name somewhere :)
Otherwise I'd have to take a closer look, documentation is probably better in your hands? I guess .scn files are needed?
Also I am at the link the space station. But can't figure out how to download the 3ds or obj
I have .obj and .lwo, I'll PM to you.

True, but it's meant to be part of your series of B5 vessels. Therefore, you should be the one to release it. gattispilot and I were merely providing assistance.

On the B4. I had to redo the solar panels. I have noticed in the conversation the inset parts don't convert well.
It is a guess on the textures. It seems those long side part are a dark grey texture?

Unless your very patient I'd release as is. I'd prefer to finish it off, smoothing, additional tex. maps, lighting, VB, etc... There are also still some noticable mesh errors.

I can definitely wait. At the very least, the most glaring issues with the mesh have been resolved, namely the orientation and the gaps in the central section.

Well I am going to have to redo a lot of the meshes. You can see alot of lines and stuff.

The one part of the download that I can't convert from obj is the docking bays

Thanks to you both. Certainly takes away a chunk of the work and headache, and motivates to continue, just need to squeeze it in somewhere:)

Not sure where to go. I took the obj model parts and added them together. Redoing the mesh. The took parts from the 3ds model and scaled to the obj(.099).

But I am not sure about the texturing. I need to add the green stripes more on the body. But if you want to look like the images. A lot of textures,......

Also the model dock front is different from the images. I forgot some parts from the obj.

But here is the cobra arms part and then the image. You can see the red boxes, orange top and brown cross beams?

This is kinda what I meant, without familiarity of the subject or help it can be frustrating (already looks pretty good btw). I can only suggest following the pics provided in the zip.

And not having much luck with the Nova either.

Can't get the smoothing to work on the new mesh. It now has Custom Normal Data, usually deleting this solves the issue but in this case that doesn't help and it remains blocked!? ( I think it's something Anim8tor does?).
The model is not symetrical, some things on one side need deleting and replacing with the other, but which side? both have errors and differences?
There are still over 2100 msh grps that need joining, optimising, smoothing, before even thinking about new textures, VB etc...
And there are still a lot of misplaced objects, I've done a quick fix of the most glaring mistakes (mostly aft), (new msh attach.).

If I was in love with it I might persevere but it's still a huge amount of work and I would even have to go back to a version before Gattispilot worked on it, and to be honest she ain't that pretty. Gattispilot has "pulled" it together and solved the missile silo crisis, I thought the red bits were supposed to be visible!
It is what it is, use/release as is (maybe Gattispilot can release it with the Bab4), moving on, there are plenty of interesting projects to be realized in Orbiter.:)

Thanks. Yes on the Nova I had to mirror items and fix misplaced things. I did not combined a lot of groups as animation was needed. On the red tubes. It looked like they were covered by hatches.

They are there. though

I got the cobra arm done. will look at the end hubs/dock. Alot of cutting and mesh fixing

The dock ends on the obj model don't see to match the images. But I can try to.
