Programming Question Finding Orbiter Version

Is there any kind of configuration file in Orbiter (readable with notepad) that identifies the orbiter installation version? I was hoping that I could find the info in orbiter.txt or in the Config directory, but I didn't. Maybe I'm missing something. Anyway, please help.

There is an API function oapiGetOrbiterVersion(), if that is any help.

Maybe i should have stated that I'm making an external program that does not use the c++ programming language. This is why I was looking for some file.
