DIY Flightsims - Floor Unit with Center Joystick - Progress Update 2

Painting Day! The mounting boards for the rudders have been removed and labeled. The first coat of paint has been applied and is drying as I type.

Next step - once this coat dries, flip the unit up on its 'back' and paint the bottom. After that dries, back down on its base and apply the second coat.

Quick pic of the first coat (Apologies for blurriness. Tired, and the iPhone 4S has one of the worst phone cameras I've ever used).

Yes, I did spill the can of primer, kicked it over. No, I didn't do it twice. Folded the drop cloth over on it to spread it out in an effort to help it dry faster.

Remember, NOT a handman here. :lol:

Hey, at least you didn't drop a can of spray paint on it's nozzle. Francesca's STILL trying to get the paint off the floor on aisle 11! :rofl:

Haha. True, could have been worse. Glad it all went on the drop cloth. I'd have had so much fun cleaning up the mess, and even more fun explaining to my landlord. Although, the red stains on the garage floor from the previous owner (he works at an auto parts store, so I'm assuming transmission fluid) suggest she may not be too upset should something like that occur.

RE: Painting - Hoping to get bottom painted this evening, second coat on rudder boards also. Second coat on top of the unit should go on tomorrow evening.
