The last coat of paint was allowed to dry overnight. This morning before I left for work I re-attached the rudder mounting boards and brought the entire unit back inside. Since getting home from work I've reattached the controls to their mounts, reconnected all the cables, and fired up the DCS A-10C for a quick flight.
All-in-all, I'm very well pleased with the way this project turned out. And I'm surprised at how easily it came together considering my previous lack of skills (or lack of discovering them). I owe a lot of it to the easy-to-follow instructions both in the manual and the videos provided by DIY Flightsims. :tiphat:
Here is the completed floor unit with controls mounted & DCS: A-10C. Since snapping the picture I did move the joystick down to the edge of the mounting board (toward me) to give maximum clearance from the desk:
