@Reese - talk more about what this would look like. Is it a progression of missions? Flight skill tests? Would you want to log flight time, etc? Curious what you are thinking.
I basically was thinking a MFD that starts you with base figures(cash, fuel, crew?) and you startup a scenario( I use the XR5 ready for iss takeoff) and you use the same scenario consistently. MFD generated a mission(from text file?) and you accept, load the cargo/requirements into your cargo hold and takeoff to whatever destination the mission specifies. Get there, land/dock and unload cargo and you get a reward(stored in text file?). Refueling/resupplying deducts from your cash flow.. maybe pay your crew? Maintenance? IDK what the limitations/possibilities are with MFDs but that was my initial idea..
I wrote a quick mission generator in PHP/PDO/Mysqli that does essentially that. I run it locally when i fly missions. Failures, saving progress both cost money. Wrote a rudimentary system to give a bonus based early delivery. But it gets tedious having to manually move the data from the game to the site(basic input forms).
But it seems my question may have sparked a larger fire. Came back to 5 pages of discussion and idea.. so have at it.. maybe something bigger will come of it.
