It acts like something is ignoring the "left shift + number pad key" combo needed to activate the animations. The only response I get is activation of RCS thrust.

I have a clean install of Orbiter, v.100830 on Win 7 64bit.

I've tried two different PS/2 keyboards and an USB keyboard...no change.

I haven't ruled out keyboard drivers yet.

Which vessel are you working with?

I've noticed that Spacecraft3's leftshift+[anything] keys are very finicky, and only work a third to half the time they are pressed. This is using a miniature PS/2 keyboard with USB numpad.

Have you tried just pressing the combination over and over again until it works (what I do), or does it never work at all? Do RCS thrusters work normally with the numpad?

Try with NumLock off. That works for me.

Does it work with other vessels?

Haven't tried anything else yet.

Never had a problem activating the animations until moving over to a new PC and OS. OBTW, I've always used full sized keyboards. Yes, RCS thrusters do work normally with the numpad...see post #1.

Try with NumLock off. That works for me.

Thanks DaveS! Turning off NumLock regained the function. Though I've never had to do this before new h/w and new s/w.

Thanks to all too!:cheers::cheers:

That seems to be a new glitch when using Orbiter 2010 with Win7. Took me forever to figure it out too!

Does rebinding keypresses to say "shift numpad" using keytweak work? I have this keyboard that has a lot of useless 'media related' shortcut keys and I relabel them for aux. systems control :3

Actually, I have experienced it on 2006P1 as well. So it isn't something new.

Huh. Never noticed it on mine until I upgraded to Windows 7. Not doubting you, just saying...

Wonder what triggers it?

It's strange that my new keyboard had issues in WinXP (shift and Z keys permanently engaged) but the next day I upgraded to a new Win7 system, which likes the new keyboard a lot.

So it might be hardware related.

I changed over to a new PC and Win 7...but used the same keyboard.

I never saw this issue with 2006P1 or 2010 on the old h/w and os s/w.

Could be a combination of both s/w and h/w.
