OHM Boeing X-37B

IIRC the only limitation is that the crate must fit within 1.3m^3 and rest on y=0, not be exactly that size. So you aren't supposed to make anything larger, but smaller is okay. And nothing is hard-coded, it's just the policy Mr. Polli wants developers to stick to.

So you don't see a problem with making custom payloads, or Real payloads that are smaller than 1.3m^3. And thanks to Mr. Polli for the standard.

Yes I'm a ware that standards are put in place for continuity, and ease.

I saw a bunch of palm sized satellites today while surfing. Cube sats, and tube sats from the Neptune 30 launch scheduled later this year. But i'm wondering what series of satellites are prime candidates for loads aboard the X-37B?

Gonna try USAF sats and Spy sats as a search term. I may be able to develop some High-res meshes. [ I want to pre-qualify high-res, it also means high poly count ] I'm still learning about how to make an add-on, so give me plenty of time to figure all this out.

AFAIK, you can make them as SMALL as you like, you just cont go bigger (because then your cargo will stick through walls in other people's ships/models etc) as long as NONE of its bounding dimensions exceed 1.3m, you are keeping to UGCO standard

You can alway use a trick with spacecraft3,do not render payload before jettison,than you can carry and ISS inside mini cargo bay... :lol:

But still is small craft for any serious payload.
Maybe they carry repair kid for satellite,with spare part and this fellow:

Possible robotic arm to catch sat...was thinking to add robotic arm but drop it at last sec.

^ Love the Robonaut render, I wish someone would create a mesh or Add-on, I have a request in for that though.

Yeah, He could fit inside easily, and at 300 lbs, he's fairly light. I would think that a real arm to deploy mini-sats would be used if they didn't need all the Robot power and dexterity.

A small arm with the same concept of a Canada arm, a down-sized LEE and two joints would work, and would probably be lighter than Robonaut 2. That would make way for a heavier payload. You would have to make the 2 tube segments as long as the bay, and fold the arm at the elbow back on itself to store it. That way you would have about a 15-17 foot reach with the arm extended. If not a LEE then a small 3 or 4 fingered claw could reduce the weight even further.

Most likely you need to wait until Robonaut fly into space... :)
Which it has. R2B was launched on STS-133 in the PMM.

Hi liber,I have been trying to launch the X-37B with viiri2ks DeltaIV launch.03 addon,and it shows up just fine,and everything is A-ok until the final seperation of the space plane,then when I press J it CTDs,and I get an error message.I added a vessel config,but still no luck,can you please help me.Thanks:facepalm:

Code:
>>> ERROR: No vessel class configuration file found for:
---------------------------------------------------------------
>>> ERROR: Spacecraft3/X-37B
>>> [Vessel::OpenConfigFile | .\Vessel.cpp | 252]
---------------------------------------------------------------
>>> TERMINATING <<<
VistaBoost 1.0: font smoothing re-enabled.

Maybe you could install again X-37B,and for Orbiter 2010 a new stage module.
Since work fine for other maybe you need to install fresh Orbiter. :hmm:
If you supply DG-IV you need to install and DG-IV too.

Don't know why this work but...work.

In Scenario:

Code:

  missiontime 0.000000

This save as X-37B.cfg in Config/Vesseles

Code:
; === Configuration file for X-37B ===
ClassName = X-37B
Module = spacecraft3

Thanks liber,that worked like a charm,now I will use it as a template for SC3 vessels with the deltaIV Rocket 0.3.:cheers:

I can't seem to load any X-37B scenarios, this is the error message I get in Orbiter.log:
