Gaming Addon creators wanted , for an IOS space simulator.

I think the video makes clear that is a project in development.

It is not in the app store ( and It won't be for the best part of the year ! ).
I am reviewing with the team the sources of the models...

As far as I know -pls correct me if Im wrong-

The LEM is from NASA web. According to their guidelines, they are free to use for whatever (free /paid/ etc ) as long as they are credited (and they will ).

The Saturn Stack is from NASA , except the CM/SM that they can't tell me yet where they got it from .

The Shuttle is from , again in NASA's web , as is the Space Station model.

The mars "shuttle" is from someone , can't tell the name , but agreed to lent us the model. I think It was from Cellestia motherlode.

The launchpad of Saturn is also from the NASA.

So that leaves us just with the SM +CM
Gimme an hour or so that I can contact the coder that made the model import-code so I can ask him for sure where it that come from .

but as said , they are obviously not suitable for the real production . The logos/flags/names/etc are made with polygons , having surreal poly counts for just the flag or the NASA logo/

Cheeeeeeeeeeeers

Dual-core (and quad-core) Android devices are begging for a challenge like this.
I can't find much use for the power in my phone.
Plus, my S3 is supposed to support keyboards, mice, gamepads, etc. (pretending that doesn't take away mobility)

Hi .,
Efectively , I have been shown that the LM + SM +CS are indeed models created from Liber. We took them from google's sketch up , and It is not quite clear the licensing status of google's models.

so I am removing them in the next video , and I present my apologies publicly for this .I an sure Its understood that after all the money/time/effort spent on this , It would be pointless to use someone' elses' models without license to save a few quid.

----------------------------------------

(to Quick_Nick ) Regarding Android , yep , of course It goes out also for Android. 4.0 . On the Galaxy tablets it crankes up to 60 f.p.s. ! with Shadows and integrated (as in not analytical) orbit computations.

Cheeeeeeeers.

Oh! I didn't know you were so far ahead of me. I guess I haven't been keeping up for a few pages.

a few updated screenshots of the current state of the project :)

virtual Cockpits enabling all buttons in 3D and clickable ( touchable on the ipad).

The hi-res VTs of KSC / Baikonur ,etc .are slooooowlly arriving .

The shaders are pretty much done

and too much fixes/improvements to list here .

As usual , screenshots and info on the web www.space-simulator.com

Cheeeeeeeeeeeeers.,

Who did your VC, and is it interactive?

Who did your VC, and is it interactive?

Ourselves.
( the main panel background is from a Nasa archive ).

all the 3D switches , guarded switches, buttons and rotary knobs are interactive , even the buttons on the DSKY.
of course you can pan around the cockpit and look throught the side window , front window( for docking) and the hatch for EVA -not in this version thou- /

The good thing is that -to create a SDK so people can contribute with models/missions/scenarios- we have re-done most of the stuff in very scriptable way . So future add-ons would be as easy as picking a control from the quite large controls libraries ( switches, pads, DSKYs , Shuttle computers, MFDs , buttons, -you name iit- and specify the 3D position on the dashboard . Creating now new 3D panels is trivially easy , same as creating new missions ,pretty much point and click in Unity3D.

As soon as the KSC pad 39a tower arrive , We ll cook a video with the new Apollo hardware , scenarios, etc..

cheers

That's cool !

But isn't the escape tower missing on the Saturn V ?

Latest gameplay video ... almost there :)

PS: Thanks Frankinov. I fully forgot the escape tower. It is now in , implemented and fully functional! .Indeed you can even enjoy a brief "emergency" ride into the Atlantic.

The shuttle looks rather awkward without the OMS engines.

As can be expected from Orbiter Forum, I'll nit pick :)

- The shuttle stack proportions don't look right. The main tank looks too small... or the Orbiter is too big, or the relative positions aren't right.

- On the Apollo launch, you can see outside during the launch. But didn't the escape tower block the side viewing ports?

I liked the VCs very much :-) and the general responsive look.
