I got a logitech Dual analog action joystick as a present. I still have trouble landing. The main problems are lining up the runway and keeping the nose stable (even with 5 pressed) I have tried Z axis, slider 0 and silder 1, the last 2 work the best. Which setting should i chose for my logitech , and any helpful advice on landing or even more advanced settings for my gamepad would be very helpful. landing the shuttle is the hardest

You can adopt whatever configuration you like, but the problem is the sensitivity of the axis, that is more critical with joypads (less resolution).
However, during landing I would use a lot of trimming, that helps in having sweet aligning around horizon.
Have a look also here to my post about joypads:

The trimming idea helped. I really never used it before. You know what's really funny, I used to fly a cessna 152 and 172 plane. Orbiter is much harder to land especially the shuttle but not dangerous if you crash.:)
