THank God for honesty.... You can never have enough.

How was that quote...

Me, I'm dishonest. And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly, it's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly stupid.

Or incredibly honest.
On the other hand, I would have to categorize my statements with yours, you never really know what's up my sleeve.

But i'm talking about the candidates. If we have double standards, and we have double statements, then why do they ask. Palin is getting a dose of politics. Plain and simple.

However she plays it with the best of them, she honestly asks questions and gets the "diplomatic" answers. To me, if someone a politician does not want to answer a honest question, say like Joe the plumber, and gets investigated afterwards, whats the freaking point of even being in office?

You can't please everyone.

Oh yeah, I'm just waiting to see all the Obama support, when he starts axing NASA programs. Thats going to be a lovely one.....

Again, read about the historic component, instead of thinking only in the geographic dimension (Was done in Alaska, Palin is governor of Alaska, so Palin must have done it). Between 1977 and 2006, Palin was not governor. Do you honestly think, that she had any serious negotiations in these final 1.5 years?

I really don't know the historical details. I expect that acquiring a full understanding of them, would be very effort-intensive and time consuming - requiring, among other things, an examination of the recorded minutes of each and every meeting involving anyone who participated in the process. I regard it as a pointless exercise, to attempt to define precisely what Palin's activities were, in that regard, and quantify the extent to which each action contributed to the overall result. It is sufficient to recognize that she participated in the process and completed it, successfully.

Furthermore, your assertion was that "being Governor of Alaska obviously does not come with great skills should be obvious." Whichever Governor(s) may have participated in the process, in whatever specific manner and to whatever precise extent, your assertion is refuted by any ability to recognize that the establishment of the pipeline was a complex and significant function performed by the Alaska Governor.

Thanks for the links, but it looks like my English isn't good enough to understand the difference between "...I don't support..." and "...will not find my support...", also I can't imagine what "non-explicit sex-ed" might be

From the L.A. Times article:
But in August of that year, Palin was asked during a KTOO radio debate if "explicit" programs include those that discuss condoms. Palin said no and called discussions of condoms "relatively benign."

"Explicit means explicit," she said. "No, I'm pro-contraception, and I think kids who may not hear about it at home should hear about it in other avenues. So I am not anti-contraception. But, yeah, abstinence is another alternative that should be discussed with kids. I don't have a problem with that. That doesn't scare me, so it's something I would support also."

I, also, don't know what would distinguish Palin's definitions of "explicit sex-ed" and "non-explicit sex-ed." Perhaps among her considerations, would be the inclusion of helpful advice on enjoyable sodomy techniques, that has been reported as being included in some school presentations. The point is, that Palin is evidently not opposed to school sex-ed, generally, and is not opposed to the inclusion in it, of discussions about contraception, and is not insistent upon school sex-ed's being "abstinence, only," and is, evidently, not the rabidly religious opponent of school sex-ed, that would constitute the "myth" about her.

... the establishment of the pipeline was a complex and significant function performed by the Alaska Governor.

And what else do you dream at night?

There is nothing "honest" about Joe the plumber. I guess I must be a chump because I pay my taxes. Was he going to get rich by being a lying cheating cutthroat scumbag? He exemplifies his kind of dirtbag. Wailing about "Your gonna cost me more" when he doesn't even pay what he owes now. How was he going to pay for this business? More lying and cheating? The guy is not a tradesman, he is a plumber's helper. How was he going to get the proper job done? More lying and stealing? From his employees? From his customers? I wouldn't hire this guy to plumb a doghouse.

As I have said before, it is not just the machines that will take us there. I have pretty much given up on the machines in my lifetime. McCain and Palin do not represent the new way of thinking that will take us there, not by a longshot. Everything about them is a shortsighted "give the junkie his fix" approach. I will concede that Obama has some bad ideas and traits, as well as Biden. However, they are CLOSER to the future way of thought that is needed before we can go play with the machines again.

Palin on the other hand spoke out about it, and kept it open. She was HONEST about her opinion.
THank God for honesty.... You can never have enough.

Really, to use Palin and honest in the same sentence is almost unbearably ludicrous. Boss Sarah Tweed of Wasilla Hall? She still has yet to come clean on that whole bridge to nowhere. What about her associations with one of the biggest porkers of all time? Ted Stevens. Oh yeah, and the whole state money for family travel thing? Worse yet, changing the expense reports AFTER she got the nomination. Wow, a real maverick honest John reformer there.

So let me ask you a question, how is this supposed to "stimulate" the economy? I thought he was FOR the middle class guy?
When you start talking cuts, that means layoffs, lesser money into pockets and less spending...
Which creates the domino effect, and he now has to lessen expenditures since he has no income to work with, so no movies kiddies, The democrats just put me out of a job, and the effect is felt full force.

Sounds like a political promise to me.

Whilst my signature comes from a democrat, it comes from a democrat I liked. Spending on the Apollo cost at the time 18 billion dollars, but it gainfully employed so many people who would normally have no jobs, and skilled labor at that too. Not only that kept them employed even after Nixon axed a lot of the programs, since some of the stuff came from Beth Page put Grumman on the map and developed the F-14 with that funding that came out of the LM projects.

Opposite of the domino effect there.

EDIT: Just for the record...

Look;
I love space as much as anyone here...NEVER-THE-LESS... there are other more pressing issues at hand. We still have most of the globe waging war for ridiculous reasons such as religion, race and currency inequality. Climate change is just barely (AFTER OVER 10 YEARS of emergency time wasted in foolish arguments for and against it) come out as an actual occurrence tho some are still playing dumb as to weather or not we are contributing to it.
Enter Palin.... She has attempted to ban books because they are out of frame with her Christian beliefs. She is stuck too high up with the oil industrial peeps (only reason Alaska really exists as anything other than a sub-arctic map location is oil... She wants so hard to be the "woman" that all women see themselves as wanting to be... the consummate soccer mom with style and a nice s.u.v. to haul the kids to school. She is a puppet of the cute kind... the prerfect match to McCain the ugly puppet with Hero status... But I wonder... how is it getting shutdown and captured and tortured a vehicle to heroism? Does that then make those people we have captured and torutured heroes as well?... standards are ALWAYS double people... if you do not double the standards you become a hypocrite on the spot because all we do is frame life to our ideals. Of this we are all guilty...
If going to the Moon and Mars means 20 more years of this planetary stagnation I would like to stick around and make sure the Globe is not going to self combust while I am on the way to Mars :P .
China and india are on the way to the moon... I imagine Russia too... In the USA we made a choice to sit in our arses and do nothing but buy things for next to nothing for about 30 years... now we are mad because other nations are getting smart and we see it as a threat. Tsk, tsk, tsk... I am full of "I told you sos" 25 years in the making.
As a (real) republican I can tell you that the current representatives of the republican party are not republicans themselves, they are neo facists wanting to privatize sections of the government thus removing congresional oversight, they have done nothing aside from attempting to remove congress oversight from their activities since Bush junior took office... And I have heard no honest compeling argument for me to seriously consider supporting such an agenda.

How was that... Russians: "We can see Palin from here!"

"...and-oh crap, she's got a sniper rifle aimed at us!

In Soviet Union, Russia sees you.

LOL, "...what a country"

I'm for McBama, but I don't get to vote in yer election so who cares. Though I'm surprised Rotten Ronny's hasn't jumped on that one during the campaign. Granted I have no conception as to what THAT sandwich would be made up of. *SHIVERS*:P

I do not know if anything like this has already been said.

If Obama is elected then we will see a lot of major companies that employ millions of middle class americans start to cut down on spending and also stop hiring as many people because of the taxes that they will have to pay. I think that this would significantly harm the middle class, what do ya'll think? I think that the middle class would be benefited more by having jobs than tax cuts.

The problem of the USA is never the lack of jobs. The problem is the lack of payment. If people can have two jobs and need them for financing their life, something is wrong - the cost of a work hour.

I read an interesting article about some factors that may be skewing the polls in favor of Obama. Its a little long, but it has some psychology gems like Clever Hans (a seemingly mathematical horse) and Asch's experiments with normative conformity.

http://www.zombietime.com/lefts_big_blunder/

The woman who wrote the article is best known for her photojournalism at (mostly) left-wing protests.

Enjoy your food-for-thought, always fun to consider a few new ideas every now and again.

Are out-of-attention, can't-read-thru-it-all comments acceptable?

Just wanted to ask - how much USA people around here could vote for the third option - "i don't care who will be elected"?
