Posts you don't want to read

My personal sentence to make me berserk: :@

will it be ummu compatible?

Everytime I read this at the end of a good discussion and review of a new add-on, the dark clouds gather and the birds stay on the ground around me.

It's even worse than the good old classic "will it have auto?". In all but the rarest cases, it is either UMMU compatible or has no problems with UMMUFA. So what is the sense behind such a post? Why is the author only looking at the ummu compatibility... can he only dock and transfer crew?

I am almost sure, when somebody releases the JWST, among the first 50 posts will be "Will it be ummu compatible".

The ideal add-on would be most likely a pure docking tunnel. It is ummu compatible - and can't do anything else.

*Rant over*

Great post. Don't get to see you rant too often, and it's a good rant, too.

The Youtube comment to make be beserk is "What's the music?" Even when it's in the credits and description, they are to lazy to read and just wait for a response in the comments. It's OK when the title is not given, but before you waste commening space, look in the description and credits. The answer might already be there. We've even come up with an acronym for this problem. RTFD:Read-The-F****** Description.

Good one, also... "What game is that?" or "What addon is that?"

At times like that you sometimes wish you could reach through the screen and slap em for being so stupid or too lazy to read the credits. Read the credits ffs..

If this isn't an annoying pic, I dont' know what is. See why I hate it?

While we're on the topic of annoyances; my personal enrager is:

"OMG! Where can I download???!!!11one"

Answer: The internets.

Like seriously... if you've managed to stumble across Orbiter, chances are you've at least heard of Google.

Here's the jist of it; WHATEVER THE HELL YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT, TYPE IT INTO GOOGLE!!!! ARGHGHGHGHH

For example:

I'm thinking to myself "Where can I get donuts in Toronto, Canada?" So what do I do? Type that into Google:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=where+can+I+get+donuts+in+Toronto%2C+Canada

The first link is a MAP ffs!! So, let's translate this into Orbiter:

"Where can I download BaseSync MFD"

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Where+can+I+download+BaseSync+MFD

Wow, look at that. The link to download is right there. Jesus people... search engines are not complicated. Google doesn't require a super-complex algorithm. Whatever $%^&#*( thing you're thinking... type it in and get a result.

</rage>

_O.K._

[Edit: Andy44... word. Whoever invented LOL catz should be attached to the shuttle's SRB's by their balls. Bet that **** ain't UMMU compatabile.]

Good lord thats one hell of a pic! LOL! Yea, I totally see what you mean now.

I tried a UMMU scenario the other night though i'm sure others have tried similar things. turbo pack a guy off the surface of the moon to put him in a parabolic trajectory, using all the fuel. Then hop in a XR1 or whatever and try and catch and rescue the turbopacker and put yourself in a stable, low lunar orbit before everything hits the fan, err, lunar surface.

By "parabolic" you mean a trajectory with periapsis below ground level? I never tried anything as suicidal as that, but I have once launched a guy into lunar orbit and successfully recovered him with a DG-IV. http://orbitersim.com/forum/Default.aspx?g=posts&m=161703#161703

if you really want to show skills, land on the moon with a UMMU astronaut. In theory it is possible, the question is just: Can you also pilot a spacecraft for swapping turbopacks during the way down?

You shouldn't need a spacecraft on the way down. Just get into orbit in DG-IV, EVA, and grab the turbopacks - two should be just about enough. Don't try it with Orulex though

If that was possible, we'd be getting pwned by HBs every 3 seconds on youtube
