Locomotives don't miraculously drive on their own 😉

People do that faster than you can shout "Stop!"

A country can work fine by itself, it can do many more things at once than any human leader could ever think about, have more ideas than any committee, etc...

Because there are leaders and leading majorities in every county council, agency, company etc. Even the most "primitive" cultures in a rain forrest or African desert have leaders or patresfamilias. I don't think anarchy works well (and I am also not convinced of direct democracy btw.).

Someone needs to put NASA on a proper road, which is the US government and the Congress 🤷‍♂️

Sadly, I don't quite see that happening. Congress has a history of scuppering projects. Too short sighted and concerned about their own local fanbase

The weird mindest within large parts of the political class and societies in the Western world, is counterproductive for a strong national space program. I'm surprised that space flight is still allowed.

It looks like they messed up and should have said after OCT 2025 so those who are responsible for this mess could retire to live on Fisher Island . I think like Buran the VAB will collapse on Artemis ll or Trump will pull the plug

I seriously doubt Orion will fly to the moon as payload on Starship. There are no real alternatives yet, it would be a major setback to the program.

I think the more "serious" idea is Falcon Heavy or New Glenn, dunno how those work out for payload capacity though.

Anyway, we're all going to need some popcorn.

For me this is actually over, from the enthusiastic point of view. I look back to a nice era with a big smile. My youth was very inspiring and the future was promising. It sill is, but differently and not due to NASA anymore. They might fix their own country first. But, I guess, the point of final meltdown is still going to happen.

I think I might follow Urwumpe and increase my stock of popcorn, coke and other sweets... Next year will be pure comedy gold
