According to one poster in the thread, it's scrofula, that is a tubercolosis infection specifically of the lymph nodes. ?
Honestly, when I read it I had to smile, because it has a more jovial ring to it than "killed themselves".
Also, "Planet" must be the most epic cause of death I've ever heard off. I thought it might describe falling from a large height, but apparently it's sudden deaths believed to be connected to specific astronomical constellations (i.e. "death by astrology").

Well, doesn't mean that we can't make jokes about remedies without solutions. Especially if goverments without solutions promisses those remedies.
And if I do the maths... then I come up with 5-7% of casualties from a flu. That was an average rate even years before doomsday.

Luckily others do the math better (you are at least off by one order of magnitude) and at least in terms of knowing the semantics of the numbers.
If you want to calculate how many people die from a flu, make sure you compare similar people and attribute the number to the right population: Do you know anybody ever getting PCR sampled for having a flu in their life? Unless you go into a hospital for a really bad case, its really rare that something like that happens. So, the population of lab-tested people will already have a severe case of influenza and yes, a high number of those will die.
For example, in the 2018/2019 season, we had 852 lab-tested deaths of influenza, out of 181,000 cases confirmed the same way (0.47%). 40000 of those had been hospitalized (22%). That is mildly close to the case fatality rate, but again, as noted, flawed by selection bias. (Source: https://influenza.rki.de/Saisonberichte/2018.pdf )
In reality, the number of all infected people was of course much higher, while the number of deaths was only slightly higher, since these had been covered better by testing. According to the ARE surveillance network monitoring influenza activity from doctor prescriptions, we had up to 2 million cases of respiratory diseases per week, a lot of them with influenza, some lot with the common cold. Every week.
Luckily we have good medicine today. Around 1919, the spanish flu killed about 10% of the Indian population - and that was still only a rather normal kind of influenza virus, something, whose close relative strains visit us about every 4 years. Neither here, nor in India, it has ever become THAT deadly.

I guess it‘s better to let the experts do the math, or, as Urwumpe pointed out, at least refer to correct numbers and factors. There are already too many laymen around playing epidemiologist while making incortect assumptions and so contributing to rumors and half-truths.
One doesn‘t really need to do the math because mortality and hospitalization here in Germany already shows that Covid-19 is anything but just as dangerous and deadly as the flu. Also, the course of Covid-19 can not be estimated and can get bad after you thought you made it. After all, this disease is not comparable to the flu. It is not only more deadly, but also causes severe long-term effects and it spreads pandemic. If you let it just go without taking any actions, it gets wild like a bad fire.

Probably not just children, adults can get tooth infections quite easily too, especially considering the state of dental hygiene...
But he number under Chrisomes and infants is certainly brutal. It's almost half of the list...
I do wonder about the criteria to get "grief" diagnosed as cause of death, though.

So, last night the computer freezes, and I immediately realize that I didn't save my work in blender... So I left the computer on during the night hoping it could somehow recover, but in the morning it was still the same. Reboot, check the temp folder and luckily blender did a back up probably inside 1 minute of the freeze, so I didn't loose anything. Also, some of the dead keys somehow came back to life after this... ok, I'll take it. 
Clearly that used up all my luck for today, as from here on it's all down hill, because today was the day I was going to buy a new computer. Go to a store maybe 90 minutes away, as it was the closest one with the computer I wanted in stock (yes, I could have ordered it, but I wanted to check out the material before buying it). No issues with the purchase, except the guy didn't even let me open the box inside the store due to "store policy". After some not so smart choices of transportation on the way back, I finally get home 3+ hours after I had left. Change clothes, eat something and it's time to open the box and play with the new toy.
Unpack everything, all clean and undamaged, clear a space on the desk and plug everything, hit the power button and.... nothing. Check and recheck the cables and all seems ok. Check the manual to see if there is some extra procedure on a new computer and it simply says "plug in, power light comes on, hit power button"... except I didn't even had the power light on. Maybe it needs to charge the battery a bit so I waited, but 10 minutes later still nothing... ****, I have to return to the store... 3 hour round trip...
Pack the defunct hardware back in the box, and off I go back to the store. Get there, and because I bought the thing, I now have to go to customer support. 15-minute wait and I finally get to the front of the cue. The lady there unpacks the computer, plugs it in and... nothing. She tries another power outlet but the result is the same, so she says: Well, go to my colleges in sales and ask them for a new one to replace this, and them come back. Back to the front of the store, explain my situation and the guy there goes to the warehouse to get the new computer. While I'm waiting, the guy who a few hours earlier toll me I couldn't open the box shows up, sees me and does a double take: wow, you're back? ?
Eventually the new guy returns, carrying an unsealed box (FYI, the original box was sealed) which I immediately point out, this bozo shrugs it off as "it's not a problem" and asks me how will you pay, cash or card? Somehow without loosing my calm I explain again the situation and we both go back to customer support with the "new" computer.
I didn't need to ask to see the new computer in action as the lady immediately opens up the box and starts plugging the cables. Clearly the computer had been (at least) unpacked before, as the cables weren't wrapped and the bag with the computer was all messed up. Finally she hits the power button and..... nothing. ?
?? Let's try another power outlet - she says, but the result was the same. After a few seconds so they could both pull their jaws back up from the floor into their respective masks (all though this I laughed so much, I almost fell to the ground), they ordered a new one from the main warehouse, which should arrive sometime next week. So I returned home, empty handed, tired and hungry.
So this was my Saturday.

Maybe... JPL wanted to cook the first Ranger probes to avoid contaminating the Moon, but stopped when it fried the probe electronics.Just one chance to work with professionals. Even if it is only for 5 minutes.
What are they doing with their computers there? Drench them in desinfection?

I started watching the Netflix version of Cowboy Bebop. I can really agree to the criticism... the only really bad thing is, that it isn't the original anime series. If it wouldn't exist, it would be more fun to watch.
