France vs. Portugal this evening, should be interesting.

30' : Goal for Portugal (penalty, Ronaldo)

Portugal plays well, forcing french key players into calls. French team is a bit in panic.

45' : Goal for France (penalty, Benzema)

Time, 1 : 1, still very tight !

48' : Goal for France, Benzema. Things are heating up !

60' : Goal for Portugal (penalty, Ronaldo). Real tight ! Ronaldo is up to his own legend !

2 : 2 right now.

... aaaand.... final score 2 : 2. At this point all players of both teams were cooked by the relentless heat. France is qualified for the next round.

Hungary vs. Germany

or:

How to look really stupid in 15 seconds.

Yes, I have the feeling that in some way, Germany will make it to say the half finals...

I watched the World Cup and came across the national team of an African country (don't remember which one) there every fan brought an African drum and every game of the national team was accompanied to a music festival with a Woodstock but in a voodoo style

Calling it now: Switzerland beats France, overcomes Croatia in the quarters, goes all Moorgarten on arch-enemy Austria in the semi-finals and ends up with a rematch against Wales in the final... ?

Russia loses against Belgium 0 : 3

Swiss and Wales are even 1 : 1

Finland wins against Denmark 1 : 0

Italy scores a nice goal against Austria during extra time, after a rough match. Now all players are very tired, there's a good chance that the score will hold.

Italy vs. Austria = 1 : 0

Actually, no. Seems Italy is now in orbit. 2 : 0. Those goals show some really interesting tactical skills, if they keep playing that way they have their chance.

109' : Di Lorenzo (probably kerosene-fueled) sprints the whole field alone with the ball, but misses.

116' : And now 2-1, Italians were caught off-guard.

So Italy wins 2 : 1, overall a rough, deserved victory.

Congratulations to Italy, but IMHO Austria played a great game with some chances to equalise.

Yeah, Austria was tougher than I expected... but I like Italy's team, they are more interesting team than a decade ago (often just keeping 1:0).

Also yesterday Danemark nuked the Wales = 4 : 0, Wales got a red card ('90).

This evening Netherlands vs. Czech and Belgium vs. Portugal.

Belgium vs Portugal could become interesting, looks like de Bruyne is back again after his injury so two of the biggest active players in football are going to meet today.

Netherlands vs Czech wasn't exactly interesting, but certainly unexpected...

Czech team is strong and quite tough, and Netherlands was not extremely impressive in group stage, so it is not huge surprise, althouhg Czechs were underdogs. And game's ending was quite interesting.

Belgium wins against Portugal ! 1 : 0

A lot of action, despite Portugal's many efforts Belgium was able to hold a very strong and skilled defence, including the goalkeeper.

I suspected this...

Not to undermine Belgium, but Portugal was let down by the manager. Trusting luck is so 1990s, football has moved beyond that.
One win in 4 games makes this the worse Euro cup ever. I'm not happy at all  !

Now I think I'll follow France! Great players there (y)
