People and the Space Shuttle.

Well, I was just recently searching for Blogs about the Space Shuttle Columbia
accident, I came up, and I found one certian blog, It at first said some pretty heart warming things like "There all in my prayers," And "god be with them" Or "May they rest in peace in the Kingdom of god" But then, the Internet Trolls come in.

One said "Who gives a about some stupid Airplane blowin up over Texas" and "NASA, Need Another Seven Astronauts" And lets not forget "I hope all seven of those Astronauts are rotting in hell with Satan."

I look at those comments in disgust, Its pathetic, and you see them on youtube aswell, I even saw a comment on a Columbia Memorial Video that says "These Seven Souls did not go to heaven, for they didnt convert to Islam, now there tied naked to a rock and being Wipped." I about nearly cried in reading some comments, got very upset. Even "Columbia was fake, never happend."

That's just disgusting, they were great people, but some people are idiots. Why would NASA want the best 7 astronauts that flew with the shuttle killed. I wish i could meet these people i show them a piece of metal from the wreckage of Columbia and knock them sceneless.

I find that ignoring them is the best course of action. Youtube (and blogs) are like magnets for all the stupidity of the internet. If you like laughing at idiots though, they are the best places to spend time .

People will sometimes distance themselves from something they don't understand or can't fully appreciate by ridiculing it, or making jokes about it. Sometimes the joking can even be a form of grieving, so sayeth the shrink who visited a squadron I was in after the death of a pilot. Sometimes, granted, the comments are a way of trying to make themselves look better, no matter the cost. In any case, the internet is a human zoo, where folks are mostly relieved of the burden of accounting for their words. The results are predictable.

I would always remember one aspect: If it can't happen in nature, it can't happen in the LHC.

The argumentation about a black hole not interacting with Earths gravity field when it is not at rest relative to Earth is, BTW, totally bogus. In nature you can well observe that black holes can interact well with objects reaching nearly c relative to them. For you as outside observer, sure the matter is moving towards the stationary black hole and the black hole will agree, but for the matter in the accretion disc, the black hole is moving at nearly c relative to it.

If you have not understand special relativity, don't attempt arguing about general relativity.

The internet allows relative anonymity, which allows people to express their opinions without fear of retribution, but it also provides a safe haven for idiots to spout off. The price of free speech.

The problem is just that by not reacting to them, you make their stupidity unchallenged, and thus "almost true".

The problem which anybody in the internet has to solve: React against the stupidity of the troll, but not the troll himself. Get a feeling which reaction he wants to cause in you and don't give him the victory. Control the troll. Trolls are rarely smart. Smarter trolling people are called experts and earn money with their stupidity.

And I agree, Ignore them, but what about there family Members? Its a sever insult to the Crew, the Shuttle, NASA, and there familys. Its just a reminder about how some people are cruel, twisted, and stupid. Hence the word "Trolls."

Ignore them, thats the only way you win... I'm sure they'd love to hear that they've managed to upset someones family. And what they say won't become true because most people aren't that stupid and will form their own opinion regardless. At least on youtube you can vote to remove the spam, for what it's worth.
